Ralph by Ralph Lauren Perfume

Ralph Lauren is a very beachy and fresh scent.Everything about this scent exudes  fresh, clean, beachy and apple. Its a perfect day scent for summers. It lasts all day and isn’t very strong, but it builds up quite quickly. It takes time to settle in and you might find it stronger a minutes after applying, not right away. The fragrance is of apples, floral, slightly musky too. The packaging is quite simple but nevertheless looks good in a clean way. Photos below!           Checklist Name: Ralph (Eau de Toilette) Brand : Ralph Lauren Colour : Clear Top : Apple Tree Leaves, Yellow Freesia, Italian Mandarin, Japanese Loquat. Heart : Osmanthus,...

What’s In My Purse MakeUp Bag

What’s In My Purse MakeUp Bag

I love watching and reading about these kinds of lists. you get to see so many options and how people use make up ‘in real life’. I don’t carry too much. And I don’t carry a blush or concealer!. I generally use these before I leave. So, this is more of a ‘touch up’ make up bag.     01. Make Up Bag – My mom gave me this bag. I think she got it from Jet Airways. But wherever it came from, it looks good. The material isn’t flimsy and pouch is slim and bends quite well. It’s a bag that can hold less or a lot and still fit well in my purse. Also, the length of this bags fits my powder brush well. 02. Bobbi Brown Mascara – Its...

Dior 5 Couleurs (034) Gris Gris

Dior 5 Couleurs (034) Gris Gris

Dior 5 Couleurs in (034) Gris Gris is a 5 shade palette which is perfect for smokey eyes. All the shades are pearlescent with the central black one having shimmer. All of them are very pigmented. They go on very smoothly and blend quite easily as well.  I’ll be posting a smokey eye tutorial with this palette some time next month as well. I’ll update with a link here then. The packaging is really great and sturdy. Its meant to be a palette for travel with a good sized mirror. If you are the type who goes for specific looks and needs them quite often, these palettes are quite handy. the quality and amount of product si great. Yes, its terribly overpriced but if you collection 5...

Beach Perfect Outfit

Beach Perfect Outfit

I know people picture shorts and tank tops with beaches but I prefer light dresses and comfy aviators. Paired with wedges, it gives you comfort as well. I decided to pair a bright strapless dress with floral wedges. Very springy and full of colour. The accessories are classic and clean. That way, the outfit isn’t overkill.             1. Dress – Emerald green and electric blue dress from Forever New. 2. Navy floral espadrille’s from New Look. 3. Gold frame and brown aviators from River Island. 4. Crochet and bead bag....

Mac Touch Lipstick

Mac Touch Lipstick

I was looking for a nude lipstick for everyday wear. Generally I prefer sheer lipsticks for office. Mac Mocha was a choice in the list but it looked too orange and obvious. Touch came to my rescue! I haven’t tried a Lustre lipstick before, but I’m actually quite happy with it! It’s sheer but buildable coverage. The colour appears very dark brown but when you swatch it, its actually a pinky brown that evens out my lips really well. I’ve been wearing this all month! Although its nude for my lip, it doesn’t wash me out at all. It’s a good nude lipstick for deeper skin ones. The lipstick would adapt to your tone and look quite lovely. This lipstick looks dewy...

Clarins Colour Quench Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet

You must excuse my lack on continuity with posts, I haven’t been keeping well lately. My very first lip gloss was from Clarins. That was almost 4-5 years ago. I’ve recently rediscovered my love for the brand. The products are well packaged, good durability and the quality is suberb! The same goes for their skincare line. Today, I’ll be reviewing the Colour Quench Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet. These glosses are sheer, with microshimmer and a corresponding fragrance as well. Mine tastes like strawberries and its so yummy! In the tube it appears almost like an opaque red but its quite sheer and the shade is a bright pinky red with shimmer.  It glides on quite easily. The...

China Glaze Four Leaf Clover

China Glaze Four Leaf Clover

When Mulberry Alexa exploded on the scene, I wanted the watermelon one so badly!! Instead, I bought China Glaze Four Leaf Clover! The colour is a total dupe! And I love it! When it comes to spring colours, I love pastel colour but I don’t think they look that good with my skin tone. Instead the slightly darker bright colours suit me more. This is definitely one of them! I have to give you a warning though, the colouring in the photographs is slightly off. I tried with 3 different cameras and all of them turned out more blue based than it is.  It’s actually more of a yellow based green. Another red flag, I clicked this on the 4th day after applying, as you can see, there is were...

Models Own Loose Powder in Deep Mauve

Models Own Loose Powder in Deep Mauve

Models Own is a brand that I stumbled across at Asos. I read their reviews and was curious to try their eye shadows and nail polishes. Their loose powder is the first one I ever owned. The shade Deep Mauve is a stunning blue based purple with microshimmer. The pigmentation is AMAZING and the coverage is so opaque, with just one stroke. Its not really a deep mauve. Over the lid, it comes off as a bright purple. The shimmers are blue, violet and silver mixed together, hence it also gives a blue based appearance. My only peeve is that the fall out is quite horrendous. The packaging is a glass round pot with plastic top. Its quite sturdy and cute but you have to always make sure its tight...

Tresemme Heat Defence Styling Spray

Using a heat protectant is so important!! I hate it when salons don’t use it either! So anyway, I have tried many and I keep coming back to this. It’s not easily available in India and I can’t ship it from overseas. The store where I usually buy it doesn’t always stock it. So currently, I’m using Tigi. The packging is really good. The nozzle has a lock, so its travel friendly. I like the long handle spray rather than the press down aerosol ones. That way I dont have to check where I’m spraying and its easier to control. I use this everytime before I blow dry or use the flat iron. It also detangles hair making it easier to manage. The 300ml bottle has...

Fall 2012 RTW Reem Acra

Just one word will suffice. Glamourous. The sight of glitter, sequins and shiny things makes me happy! Reem Acra’s collection starts with simple and extremely well fitted skirt suits and dresses. Combinations of leather and sequins make the dress unknowingly provocative. I absolutely loved the lace high neck top paired with sequin pants. the styling there is spot on. The combination of the two doesn’t clash at all. The bronze-grey suit was my favourite. The embellishments on it make it look really rich. We then descended to a 20′s esque dress which is loose fitting and has a dropped waist. The evening wear in this collection sin’t my favourite, but not bad either. I...

Fall 2012 RTW Kenzo

Frankly, I’m excited to see the colour and madness that Kenzo offers every season. This collection is no different! A big trend here are skater dresses and oversize sleeves. These are repeated in every fabric thats on show. I read in the interview that this collection is inspired by interiors. By that virtue, we have carpets, wallpaper, marble, tiles and laminates! But the feminine cuts and patterns keep this collection interesting. The 4th printed dress looks very classy, as does the brown/taupe skater dress. Satin jumpsuits in bright colours  are one of the starts of this collection. The printed coats aren’t very unique in my opinion, but they give a collection a...

Burberry Brit Perfume

Burberry Brit Perfume

Summer is here! And I hate it already! It’s so dry, I feel like I’m melting everytime I step out in the sun. An essential for this summer is definitely a light, long staying perfume! Burberry Brit (for women) is one of my favourite perfumes for daywear. The fragrance is like a mix of vanilla, citrus and floral scents. It has a long staying power. It lasts throughout the working day but it’s not too strong an odour either. Won’t make people hate the smell, but it leaves a distinct scent which is always a nice touch. I perfume is orangey-yellow in colour and bottle is transparent with white Burberry lines over it. The bottle itself is quite sturdy. I love the...

Known Turf by Annie Zaidi

Known Turf is written by Annie Zaidi, a journalist. She chronicles her experiences in the known yet unknown parts of India. Summary Annie Zaidi, a journalist, narrates her life experiences and also gives a glimpse to the many socio-economic problems faced by the underprivileged in India. We go through stories such as dacoits in UP and the dilemma people face in either accepting them as the Robin Hood’s or murderers in society. Top Ten iPhone Apps 2011-2012

Posted on Mar 22, 2012 in Gadgets, Tech

Time for a gizmo post! With the new iPad (or iPad 3 as some call it) out, I spent my time partially admiring iOS 5 and its niceties. I thought I’d share my favourite apps. When I started writing this, I felt that ‘just’ favourite was too limiting. So instead I will continually make posts for best apps in their respective categories and this post is just an All-Stars version. Onto the list! Favourite iPhone Apps 2011-2012 1. Facebook - Keeps you connected (and distracted) at all times! I didn’t like the older facebook app but now the design and navigation is cleaner, sexy and faster! 2. Instagram – From a simple photo app with retro filters, its turned into a...

Benefit Magic Ink Liquid Eyeliner

Benefit Magic Ink Liquid Eyeliner

I generally find that Benefit is a very overpriced brand with products you can find dupes for. But the liquid liner is a different story (for me). I have a very unsteady hand and using liquid liners scares me. The line becomes crooked, it bleeds, its isn’t too black etc etc. But what I really liked about Benefit’s magic ink liner is that it stayed in place, it lasted long, it looked resonably wet and didn’t dry up into pieces. Along with that, I love the packaging and the long slim handle. It makes a clumsy person like me with applying liquid liners with ease and accuracy. Magic Ink is jet black in colour. When applied, it feels cool, smooth and not very heavy. I has a...
