Resort 2013 : Just Cavalli

This collection was a psychedelic mirrored rage. It had bold patterns and prints all mashed together brilliantly. There was a definite hip hop vibe about the collection. I like the mirrored effect and neon animal print although I don’t think I’d dare to wear it. :p The animal print maxi dress at the end is amazing. There were few demure pieces as well with the white fabric and rubber placement which looks like croc skin.                       Image Credit : Style.com | Entire...

Resort 2013 : Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta had a few hits and misses for me here. The entire resort collection seems like a hashed representation of everything. There were floral and abstract prints. The water coloured suits were very magnificent. But the gowns at the end stole the show. The green one gave the mermaid silhouette a new twist with its hard edged peplum. All pieces in the collection look amazing but it didn’t wow me or inspire me.                                           Image Credit : Style.com | Entire...

Inglot Face Blush in 34

Inglot Face Blush in 34

This is the blush I‘ve wearing a lot recently! It’s a sheer peachy pink colour that looks really lovely! Inglot’s face blush in 34 (I wish they had names!!!) is a  pretty muted peachy pink blush. The fact that it’s not super bright is what makes it so universally flattering on all skintones. I feel it’s a bit similar to Nars Orgasm but might be not be that bright. This blush has gold shimmer in it that’s very subtle but it gives a really glowy look. There isn’t much fallout from the shimmer and it isn’t too apparent either. The blush isn’t too pigmented. It’s sheer but the coverage is buildable. It gives a nice hint of...

Forest Essentials Body Lotion

I don’t quite remember where I got this. But it’s tiny and effective. I used it on the go when I needed a moisturizer. It has a lovely aloe vera fragrance which isn’t overly strong. It isn’t the most hydrating cream in the market but it stays on well for 5-6 hours I guess. It’s cream in colour and gel like in consistency. It feels quite cool when you apply it as well. Photos below!           Checklist Name : Body lotion Brand : Forest Essentials Colour : Off white Consistency : Thick gel like Texture : Soft Fragrance : Aloe Vera and neem Application : Over dry skin Skintype : Any Ingredients: Soybean oil, cottonseed...

Resort 2013 : Erdem

This is probably one of the best resort collections I’ve seen. This season it’s by far the most eye catching and fresh collection. I love the very first dress (on the right) with panels down the waist. They give a slight peplum effect without jumping right into it. I love the large prints and the blue and black mix. What I probably like the most are the printed shoes. They look so gorgeous!! The dresses have a very simple and elegant silhouette but the prints and mix of fabrics make it very exciting and a riot of colours. The collection is pretty complete in terms of pieces that are...

Resort 2013: DKNY

DKNY’s Resort collection has an understated elegance to it. From sheer black blouses to the sequined skirt, each piece has a slight edge to it and yet looks very polished. I really liked the black and white floral sheer shirt and I loved the silver capped shoes at the end. There may not be much that’s undiscovered in terms of fashion but this collection simply recycled the current trends gave them a fresh look.                                   Image Credit : Style.com | Entire...

Inglot XL7 and Filthy Gorgeous in Twilight

Inglot XL7 and Filthy Gorgeous in Twilight

So finally, a review of the highly esteemed Inglot XL7. The beauty of those pretty blue glitters is very hard to notice when worn bare (which I like all the same). I’ve used a Filthy Gorgeous black polish named ‘twilight’ as a base. I’ll talk about XL7 first. It’s pretty much worth the money I think. I haven’t found glitter polish in the exact shades of blue glitter as this, which if you know me at all, you should know that I LOVE blue polishes. The shimmers are blue, light blue and silver kinda mixed in together. The base polish is clear. You need around 1-2 coats to get an even spread of glitter. Of course, it isn’t densely packed. I would...

Resort 2013 : Chanel

There are a lot of interesting separates in Chanel’s Resort collection this year. Periwinkle blues, powder blues with yellow give a very fresh and spring vibe to the collection. I don’t think the silhouettes are particularly flattering and they are very hard to pull off. Diane Kruger wore a similar dress from the collection at the Cannes Film festival this year and managed to look really elegant. I guess it depends on the style. That said, some of the pieces are more editorial than wearable. The look I really love is the sheer peacoat-esque top with yellow and pink trims. I think it looks gorgeous. The powder blue monochrome dress is very chic. I like the dresses towards the end...

Resort 2013 : Bottega Veneta

I like the colour palette of Bottega Veneta’s Resort collection. They are all muted dark and bright colours. I think they are universally flattering. I’m not too inspired by the collection. There are few pieces that are really gorgeous though. The collection has activewear, fitted dresses, light coats and some swimwear pieces as well. It kinda embodies all the looks you’d need. I really liked the blue dress with a floral collar. The plum pums actually look really cute.                       Image Credit : Style.com | Entire...

Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow in Blushed Wines

I’m back with a review of the Revlon Colorstay 12 Hour eye shadow. I bought this palette in 05 Blushed Wines. Pinks and plums are shades I want to use more often now. I think it’s very flattering on brown eyes. The palette is a quad which comes in four shades of pink and plum combos. All the shades are shimmer and very pigmented. I’ll describe the shades in the order shown below - 01. The first one from top is a very pale pink. It almost looks frosty. 02. The second one is a dusty pink which is so gorgeous! This is probably my favourite from all 4. I  don’t have a shade like this and it looks beautiful as a lid colour. This paired with gold or darker colours will...

Cannes 2012 Red Carpet Part 2

So many gorgeous gowns!! Catch up on Part 1 here! Fan Bingbing in Elie Saab She looks absolutely stunning in this. I love the cape and how the dress flows at the end. It looks very elegant. in Valentino I like the sheerness of the dress but the sleeves make it look really awkward. She still looks amazing though. I like the orange lip. Very on trend. in Christopher Bu This is probably one of the best and such a nice change from all the lace Marchesa gowns. The patterns are fun and intricate. It’s so colourful and yet her make up is perfect for this. Orange lip goes very well with this. This is right on top among my favourites. Saskia de Brauw in Haider Ackermann That royal purple...

Cannes 2012 Red Carpet Part 1

I love watching red carpets. The gowns are so pretty and I like seeing runway looks being donned by other people. Cannes is an occasion where you get to see a variety in terms of styles, not just ‘diva’ looks. So here comes Part 1. Natasha Poly in Emilio Pucci She looks amazing with that cute side swept braid. It looks effortless. I like the simplicity of the dress, it doesn’t scream diva and yet looks very stylish. I like the metallic smokey eye. Her make up is spot on. in Dolce and Gabanna Yet again, a simple and fitted dress with statement make up and accessories. Everything goes well together. I’m not a fan of that hair style though. in Gucci A very...

May 2012 Magazine Mayhem

I apologize for a taking such a long break from blogging. My room was recently re-done and everything was packed up into boxes. I started unpacking today! I actually enjoyed more than packing it I missed my iMac and I’m so glad to be back online!! So here’s this months mayhem!! I liked quite a lot of L’Officiel covers this month. They were all bright, earthy some how and edgy.       Kiera Knightley for GQ really stands out. I love the bold make up. I like the bright printed maxi in Vogue Mexico. Sharon Stone still looks amazing in Vogue Brazil; keeping in mind the amount of airbrushing done…. Alexa Chung’s cover has a very casual and easy...

MajorBrands.in Online Shopping Review

I recently had an Inglot haul delivered from MajorBrands.in. I thought I’d share my review on them as well! Since it’s a part of the group that actually opens up brands in India, they come under a niche category. They have a select few brands that aren’t available on any other Indian shopping site. Also the only place where you get Inglot in India!! You can still get Mango, Aldo elsewhere on sites like ASOS. They’ve also recently started selling La Senza and Bebe. They frequently have discounts as well. Their service and delivery time is excellent. My order was confirmed in 1 day. It took about 2 more days to dispatch and after that took 2 days to get delivered. So,...

Dior J’adore Perfume

Dior J’adore Perfume

I can’t believe the weekend is almost over. The weeks go by so quickly!! Today I‘ll be trying my best to review Dior’s J’adore! The fragrance is like floral and a slight hint of rose, also a bit fruity. Overtime though, the scent turns more woody when it lingers. I’ve used up quite a bit of this already but J’adore is something I can even wear during the day. It’s not a very heavy scent despite the mix of rose, floral and wood.  It’s more like a muted Lady Million for day wear! I’m not in love with this scent, like my Burberry Brit. But the scent adds more sophistication. It typically does last all day but it’s not a very strong...
