Hey guys! Hope you’re week is going well! I’m super busy and tired these days. I know I just took a break last month but I need another!
One of my 2014 favourites was this CC cream which I use as my everyday base. Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in Bronze great lightweight base if you don’t like wearing foundation. I actually find it somewhere in between a foundation and a tinted moisturizer. It’s available in four shades and I’m using the darkest one. It’s a little bit darker than Mac C4. I think it would work well for upto NC42.
The consistency is thin and liquidity but feels creamy. Let me explain! It’s not as runny as Mac Face & Body or Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua but it’s definitely not as creamy as the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.
I find this very easy to apply with my fingers or a brush. Applying it only with my fingers is a bit time consuming so I generally swipe it all over my face with my fingers and then use my Sigma Flat Top Kabuki (F80) brush to buff it in. It blends in really well and settles with a satin finish. It does look more matte in drier parts of my face.
A single layer will give you light coverage, not quite enough to hide marks and blemishes but it does even out the face. You can build this up to medium coverage and it will still look very natural and not cakey at all. It does contain SPF 15 so I tend to add a second layer only in areas where I need it otherwise my jawline tends to look grey. It definitely makes the skin appear smoother.
A word about the 3 pigment colour correcting claim. I genuinely don’t get how three pigments in one can correct a specific discolouration. Wouldn’t green and orange just cancel each other out? Are they separate particles that don’t mix with one another? Can someone with more knowledge please explain this to me, I’m confused. I don’t particularly get redness anywhere except near my nose. This does mask it but I don’t think it corrects it. Maybe it does work on lighter skintones but not so much for darker ones because you would need a darker pigment shade to correct. Either way, I don’t expect this to correct my dark circles so I’m fine with it.
Another claim made is 24-hr hydration. Nope. This will stay on wonderfully if you’ve moisturized properly. I really wouldn’t use this without a moisturizer underneath as it won’t hide dry patches.
This does overall last for 7-8 hours but starts to fade maybe after 5 hours. Post lunch it’s still very much there but a little faded. It will last longer more consistently if you use a lot more product upto medium coverage. I don’t really get oily throughout the day so can’t really say much about it.
Overall, it’s a really great budget option that’s more accessible in India. Its over Rs. 500 but more affordable than Mac, Clinique or Bobbi Brown. It’s a shame they don’t have shades darker than this.
I started using my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer from November since it’s better for winter. I still have a bit of this left, so I’ll use it up in the summer.
I like the packaging, it’s fine for Bourjois. It’s great to travel with and it’s something you can carry in your handbag. You get 30ml of product for Rs. 900.

Little bit of a rant. Ugggh work is killing me. I’m enjoying it, don’t get me wrong but I just don’t have as much time as I used to. I miss having more free time on weekdays. I know the posts have been a bit irregular for the last two months but it’s going to continue for a while. Can it be Friday already?
