Hello there! Hope you’re doing well!
Let’s talk about something completely unrelated first! My love for laser tag has reached embarrassing Barney Stinson heights. I enjoy hiding in corners and sneaking up on people. I’m not very good at close range duels though! Do you like hitting people with harmless beams too?
I’ve spoken about my love for the Rouge Coco Shine formula when I reviewed Liberte. Here’s take two! Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Boheme is a sheer pink toned red, moisturising your lips all the way through the rather short 3 hour wear.
Beyond a certain point you can’t really build the pigment up here. It’s great as a sheer lip to just give a bit of tint to the lips or more medium to look more pink. It is a pretty colour though.
It feels very balmy and soothing, especially so when you ahve irritated dry lips.It doesn’t emphasize minor flakes and in general smooths over the texture and looks very glossy. Of course, deep cracks (if any) will be visible.
While I like the formula very much, Liberte got a lot of praise for the colour itself. Although Boheme is beautiful and I like it immensely, I wouldn’t say you need it, the colour is so dupeable. Clinique Chubby Stick in Chunky Cherry first comes to mind, a similar sheer red. Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon also features in the same colour/formulation group. Clearly, I don’t need any more of these shades. This is also well documented in my Sheer Red Lip Edit.
The packaging is sleek but I admit, compared to other high end lipsticks of the same range, it’s a misfit. Chanel Rouge Allure has a great modern and sleek look which should be emulated here. Priced at $34 this is not cheap and very much a splurge. If you like comfortable sheer lipsticks though, this is one to consider.
