Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! I had a bit of a closet purge, sorting out clothes for donation. Attacking the shoe closet next!
You might already know, I have a thing for blurple nail polishes. I think I’ve found one with the perfect balance. Is it purple? Is it blue? I can’t make up my mind and I love it!
China Glaze Tempest is a pearlescent nail polish with a purple base and fine blue shimmer. The shimmer is a bit duochrome and shifts the blue tone from dark to light. It tends to look more blue indoors but purple in direct light. It’s gorgeous!
Tempest does feel like the lovechild of Sally Hansen Azure and OPI Ink, the former being more blue and the later most definitely purple. China Glaze Frostbite is a brighter blue while Essie Aruba Blue is more navy. Even so, I thought I’d include it in the comparison below.
The formula is really good but you have to be careful with it. Applying too much can result in some streaky pooling. The consistency is medium so it’s very easy to apply multiple coats. It’s opaque in two coats and is reasonably glossy. China Glaze polishes wear really well on me, almost an entire week with just tip wear.
China Glaze is rare to find in India, I bought this one from Jabong when I had a voucher. I’ve listed links where you can get it below. If you buy it from the right place it can cost as little as $3.
Any favourite blurples I should know about?
