Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Rosewood Shimmer (6)

The very first lip gloss I bought was from Clarins, it was a lovely nude colour, a much opaque version of this one.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (seriously, what’s with the absurdly long name) is a sheer lip gloss. These are meant to be very hydrating and give a wash of colour to give a natural but enhanced look. This comes in six shades, all of them are very sheer. Rosewood Shimmer is one of the two nudes in the range and probably the more pigmented one at that. I really really love this colour. It’s a rosy brown shade with very minute shimmer. The shimmer is really very subtle and you can’t tell unless you observe closely.

My bare lips tend to go purply at the edges and it just makes me look tired/sick. This colour really warms up my tone and even though it’s sheer, my lips get a warm look.

This also gives the lips a very glassy and even look. You don’t detect any lines and it just smoothes over chapped areas. This a very very hydrating lip gloss which is why I prefer this over lipstick sometimes when my lips are chapped. This also has shea butter and a couple of other ingredients, so really don’t end up with dry lips.

This doesn’t feel sticky at all. It’s very light on the lips and it has some tact on your lips so that it doesn’t slip around and turn into a gloopy mess. Once you let it settle for a few minutes after applying, you can smack your lips and the lip gloss won’t budge much, you can feel that tact. It’s definitely a very comfortable lip gloss to wear.

This lasts for as long as a lip gloss typically would, about 3-4 hours if you don’t eat a lot. But it does wear away quickly over time. Eventually you’re left with a thin film like layer with very little tint.

On one hand I do like the applicator and tube together, very easy to use on the go. But when you use this a lot, it becomes very unhygienic. I’m on the fence, but it does looks very cute and dainty!

You get 12ml of product for £13.60 or Rs. 1360 (going by current rate maybe even more). It’s a lot for a sheer lip gloss in my opinion but if you want to splurge on a sheer lip gloss that actually feels nice on your lips, go for it. I bought this at some duty free place with a travel set so it was a bit cheaper.

Nice! I’ve given Clarins’ Gloss Prodige a try and I think those have a bit more color, but I have yet to try the Lip Perfectors.
