Clinique All About Eyes Rich Cream

Hello there! I’ve gone almost 10 days without posting and that’s very irregular for this blog! My work load has changed dramatically over the last month and there are a lot of personal engagements and travel in the months ahead as well. For a while things will be less structured schedule wise.

I had my big skincare routine talk this month and one of the products I’ve been using is the Clinique All About Eyes Rich cream. I wasn’t really using an eye cream before, my usual facial oil/moisturizer seemed to work just fine. Last year I was at Tiananmen Square all day in scorching heat. Yes, I had sunscreen on. Yes, I also had sunglasses on but my under eye area was so severely dehydrated afterwards!

I quickly hunted for easily available eye creams after I came back. This was pretty much a rescue buy but thankfully it worked really well. After a few days my eye area was back to normal but I’ve been using it ever since. It’s also helped save my eye area from dryness in winter.

It’s very very moisturising and emollient. It’s very thin and rich consistency wise. You need a very tiny amount. I just take a very thin layer with my ring finger and massage it on around my eye.

I don’t get bags under my eyes so I can’t be sure of it’s depuffing qualities. My dark circles are hereditary so I’m not really looking for a dark circle solution here. For me, it serves it’s purpose really well.

A few times I have worn this in the day too. I just use a very little amount which sinks in quicker and doesn’t look shiny or greasy. That can happen if you use too much so just play around with the amount needed that works for you.

That ingredients list is insane though! It mainly contains shea butter which is very moisturising. Like I said, it’s supposed to combat puffiness and dark circles which I can’t vouch for. I’m not sure how long those ingredients will last once opened due to the packaging. For a simple moisturizing eye cream, I think it works well.

You get 15ml of product for $31 (Rs. 3550) in a cute little tub. I honestly don’t feel great about the tub packaging, I wish brands would move to pumps and tubes for everything! That said, this has a shelf life of 6 months which is just ridiculous. With the amount of product you need (being very little) it’s impossible to finish this up in time.

I think it is a bit overpriced for what it is. I’m definitely looking into cheaper options. In India you can find this at Clinique stores or Sephora.

Have a lovely weekend! :)

I’ve used the gel version as a day time eye cream and it worked beautifully under makeup but wasn’t much more than that! I hate the tub packaging too.. thats the reason the Pai eye cream is a huge improvement and generally a much better product! :-)

I imagine it could have been a bit cooling as well. Yep, Pai is definitely on my list. :)

It sounds like a good eye cream but for the price I am not too impressed reading this. The 6 month shelf life is actually ridiculous for an eye cream x

I know, 6 months is so little time!

  • Krithi Marla

I find this one doing good job in taking care of dark circle and puffiness :)
Currently using fe which is decent enough but not so good

    • Xuvious

      Oh that’s good to know!
It’s always very sketchy with FE, may or may not work.

Everyone seems to love this one, I find that shea butter around the eye gives me milia!

    • Xuvious

Yea, I think Sunny has a similar reaction to this as well.

Great to hear from you again.

I had this once and found it to be okay, but was over the moon. I haven’t found an eye cream I seriously loved for ages now, so the hunt goes on…

Also for me, I’m just looking for hydration at the moment, my needs are quite simple when it comes to eye creams. I probably don’t need to go for very expensive ones.

      • Linda Libra Loca

You are right. If the ingredients do what you are looking for, a drugstore item can work great on a budget.

  • Paro

Hah I wanted to pick this literally an hour back. Seemed too expensive for what it is though, but think I can go through that in 6 months.. i went off eyecream for a short while, now that I’m back using it again.. feels like i go through them faster than toothpaste xx

    • Xuvious

Lol, apparently there are two kinds of people in this world… those go go through eye cream in 6 months and those who can’t. 😉

  • nausheen

Sounds like a nice eye cream, but why the hell these eye creams comes in tub packaging:(

    • Xuvious

      Yea, it’s unfortunate.

  • Jaa

You’d be surprised how quickly I go through my little tub of eye cream. ^_^ I apply it like cray cray, sometimes 3-4 times a day! :) I have tried the regular All About Eyes but wasn’t thoroughly impressed. It was just OK. Curious about this one, though!

    • Xuvious

Whoa! I generally only apply it at night, that’s probably why. :)

  • Kiss & Make-up

Yeah, ditch the jars already guys, come on! Other than that this sounds pretty nice. I’m a big Clinique fan.

    • Xuvious

Yea I think in general if I were to buy a product blind, I would trust Clinique. :)

  • Agata

Hope things settle a little bit for you, dear!

I think this cream sounds pretty good. I haven’t been using any eye cream either so I need to look into that!

    Take care xoxo

    • Xuvious

I kinda go through phases where I think I really need eye cream and other times I don’t. Just depends on the weather I guess. :)

  • Jessica

i used up a tub of this eye cream last year and it is a really lovely product, it’s got a great texture and it’s very hydrating. i haven’t bought it again since because i have lots of samples and minis to use up first but i did enjoy it. for whatever reason clinique is really overpriced in australia but i if i did find it on sale somehow and did need a new eye cream i could see myself using it again.

Yes, I love the texture too! It’s hydrating but not too slippy! :)
