Hello there! I’ve gone almost 10 days without posting and that’s very irregular for this blog! My work load has changed dramatically over the last month and there are a lot of personal engagements and travel in the months ahead as well. For a while things will be less structured schedule wise.
I had my big skincare routine talk this month and one of the products I’ve been using is the Clinique All About Eyes Rich cream. I wasn’t really using an eye cream before, my usual facial oil/moisturizer seemed to work just fine. Last year I was at Tiananmen Square all day in scorching heat. Yes, I had sunscreen on. Yes, I also had sunglasses on but my under eye area was so severely dehydrated afterwards!
I quickly hunted for easily available eye creams after I came back. This was pretty much a rescue buy but thankfully it worked really well. After a few days my eye area was back to normal but I’ve been using it ever since. It’s also helped save my eye area from dryness in winter.
It’s very very moisturising and emollient. It’s very thin and rich consistency wise. You need a very tiny amount. I just take a very thin layer with my ring finger and massage it on around my eye.
I don’t get bags under my eyes so I can’t be sure of it’s depuffing qualities. My dark circles are hereditary so I’m not really looking for a dark circle solution here. For me, it serves it’s purpose really well.
A few times I have worn this in the day too. I just use a very little amount which sinks in quicker and doesn’t look shiny or greasy. That can happen if you use too much so just play around with the amount needed that works for you.
That ingredients list is insane though! It mainly contains shea butter which is very moisturising. Like I said, it’s supposed to combat puffiness and dark circles which I can’t vouch for. I’m not sure how long those ingredients will last once opened due to the packaging. For a simple moisturizing eye cream, I think it works well.
You get 15ml of product for $31 (Rs. 3550) in a cute little tub. I honestly don’t feel great about the tub packaging, I wish brands would move to pumps and tubes for everything! That said, this has a shelf life of 6 months which is just ridiculous. With the amount of product you need (being very little) it’s impossible to finish this up in time.
I think it is a bit overpriced for what it is. I’m definitely looking into cheaper options. In India you can find this at Clinique stores or Sephora.
