It’s one of my favorite lip products of 2014. Ever since I’ve got it, it’s always been either in my bag or on my little vanity. On to the review!
Clinique’s Chubby Sticks are what first started the rage of lip crayons. With people complaining about the lack of pigmentation, Clinique came out with the Chubby Stick Intense range which were creamier and more pigmented than the previous offerings.
Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Curviest Caramel is one of the few nudes in the range. It’s a light nude pink; I like that leans more towards pink than brown, which I feel makes it more universally flattering. I looks very much like a MLBB shade on me.
I have plenty of nude lip colours to compare it to (see below) but I think it’s closer to Mac Cosmo and Fast Play. It’s pink but lighter than Cosmo. Fast Play is just a tinge more brown and Chanel Mademoiselle has a lot more grey in it.
These are very creamy and pigmented lip crayons. They aren’t completely opaque in one swipe, but two-three and there is no sign of your underlying lip colour. They are very very creamy and have a balm like feel to them. Hence, they do slip around quite a bit. If you have any serious dryness or chapped lips, it won’t mask it and it might be emphasized. I find the best thing in such cases are glossy lipsticks rather than creamy ones which tend to highlight such areas.
In general this lasts for 5-6 hours. It does transfer like any other creamy lipstick but there is a lot of pigment there so you are left with a depleted layer and not bare lips. I do like that even when this fades, its even and there is a tint of colour still on your lips.
This does feel very moisturising and rich on the lips. It also feels a bit heavy on the lips when you first apply it but overtime it’s not so noticeable, much unlike a heavy lip gloss.
The packaging is perfection. Retractable, looks classy, sturdy and colour on the packaging. Can’t ask for more. This lip crayon is on the pricey side but I haven’t found any other that’s as creamy as this. You get 3g of product for around Rs.1025. If there’s no Clinique counter in your city, there are some products available on theskinstore.in
It makes more sense to give it a 4 rating as there are a few cons but I love the colour so much. I’ve also used it so much that it warrants a 5 rating. There you go, it’s a five.
