I’m going to start this by telling you a really embarrassing tale about nail polish and liquid eyeliners. So I was about 10 or 11 when I bought my first nail polish. It was Elle 18 and they had some collection with shimmery lilacs and blues. Ofcourse, I went nuts when I saw these. But I also wanted a black nail polish. The emo kid in me was dying to come out! 😉
So I barged into a local stationary “we sell everything” kind of shop, pranced to the makeup section, picked up a black looking bottle and pranced my way back home feeling mighty proud of myself. It was the first time I had bought something “on my own”. When I came home, I discovered, it was a black liquid liner! I can’t help but laugh at myself now, but at the time I felt very cheated! Ever since, I’ve been very careful to make sure I don’t end up with a liquid liner when I buy a nail polish!
So here we are, with Elle 18’s Color Pop Liner in the shade Green. Guess what I thought when I first saw the bottle! Oddly enough, the nail polishes from Elle 18 look the same as well!
Right, I’ll stop now, going back to the review! I’m super impressed with these. Elle 18 is a brand aimed at teens and I’m glad the prices reflect that too. At Rs. 75 it’s cheap but it’s nice to see more shades of eyeliner!
The shade Green is more of a grey teal colour with loads of shimmer. But it’s so wearable, it’s not a colour I would have normally picked out for myself but I’m really liking it a lot. It goes very well with bronze, gold, grey or even khaki olive shades. It’s also very opaque. You need just one swipe to get it all.
It applies really well and smoothly, but it does take a while to dry. Once it’s set though, it doesn’t budge. Unless you really rub that area will all your might, this really won’t fall apart.
This wore well on me for about 6 hours. It didn’t crack or smudge the least bit. There’s also no fall out from the shimmer. I have to say, the shimmer is very subtle. You can see how complex it is closely but from far away the liner looks more metallic. This isn’t waterproof or waterline safe.
The packaging is also very cute. The brush is thin and stays that way. The bristles don’t fray or shed. It’s also good for precision work if you use just the tip.
You get 5ml of product for Rs. 75 which is very sweet. I’ve listed a few websites that sell Elle 18 below but I didn’t find this product there. Maybe it’s available in stores and might be online soon.
