Hey guys! I’m in Jaipur at the moment for the Jaipur Literature Festival. Looking forward to todays session by Amartya Sen, it’s going to be an eventful day!
Essie For the Twill Of It is from it’s collection of the same name. Came out this fall and I just loved it after seeing swatches on other blogs.
I bought this last month and I’ve been loving it a lot!
Essie For The Twill Of It is a metallic colour shifting nail polish. The base colour is a murky brown shade but it appears more grey. Also, depending on the light, it will shift between a pink, mauve, gray and teal shade. It’s an exact dupe of OPI Peace & Love & OPI. (comparison here.)
It has a metallic and shine finish but looks way better with a topcoat! The consistency is thin and the polish is a bit sheer. You need two coats to get an opaque look.
The first coat can go on a bit streaky and uneven but with the second coat it looks much smoother. If you have bumps on your nail, it will show through. You’d need a filler or base coat underneath for it to look even.
This does wear a long time as well. I wore it for an entire week and there was just tipwear. Very happy with the quality!
If you like murky metallic shades this a really unique one to buy. Depending on what’s accessible to you, the OPI one might be cheaper, it’s a good alternative if you can’t find this.
The brush is the usual medium Essie brush (which I forgot to photograph). You get 15ml of product for around $8 ~ Rs. 500.
