Hi guys! Hope you’re all having a great start to the week! I have a Sephora Pune update at the end of the post but for now let’s try to focus on this gorgeous spring appropriate nail polish!
Essie Splash of Grenadine is such a difficult colour to describe. Pinky purple? Lavender pink? Very very cool toned light pink? I’m going to settle for #D384C4. It’s also hard to photograph exactly which is why I have it below in all possible natural light settings. Maybe we can all just agree that it’s pretty. It might at times look warm on it’s own but on me it’s very cool toned.
As much as I love Essie, the formulas are pretty inconsistent (on me). Thankfully, Splash of Grenadine has a great formula. It’s a thin consistency and not quite opaque (not too sheer either). You’d definitely need 2 coats to get an opaque look but it will be even and glossy with no streakiness or weird pooling.
In terms of wear time, it can go about 4-5 days without chipping majorly. I always have minor tipwear and my right hand nails tend to chip faster ofcourse but overall, it’s decent but not stellar. You can extend that with a topcoat. With Essie you get 13.5ml of product for $8 which is around Rs. 800.
Photos below are without topcoat. I’ve also included comparisons from my Zoya Perrie post.

SEPHORA Pune Update : I like the store! It’s bigger than I thought it would be. The SA’s are helpful but leave you alone if you ask nicely (which I did). They haven’t started the loyalty program yet, probably will next month. Can’t use my Beauty Insider points unfortunately, it’s a different system.
Sorry I forgot to take photos of the store but you can go here to see them. I thought it might be helpful to list the brands they carry. I’ll edit this if I remember more later!
Makeup : Nyx, MUFE, Givenchy, Guerlain, Clinique, Estee Lauder, The Face Shop, Lancome, Benefit, Stila
Skincare : Lancome, Estee Lauder, Clinique, Nuxe, Burt’s Bees, Boscia, Peter Thomas Roth, Clarins, Forest Essentials, Soap & Glory
Haircare : Percy & Reed, Quidad, Oscar Blandi
Oh, I also spotted F21 at Phoenix, I wonder when that will open…
Ofcourse, I hauled a bit. Sorry for the shitty photo but here it is.
I’m just glad I don’t have to order Nuxe Reve de Miel online again and the cotton pads are cheaper than The Body Shop ones! 120 vs 300.
