Hello there! I haven’t done one of these in a while. I don’t see myself buying anymore Nars blushes, I thought it would be a good time to do a collective post on them. I present to you, my Nars blush collection which is very dear to me!
I was very new into makeup when I found myself attracted to Nars blushes, Douceur being the first one I picked out. I wasn’t wearing blush regularly at the time and it’s the first blush that made me get into the habit of applying blush everyday. Sadly, it’s discontinued now but I did repurchase it when I had the chance. 😉
More details on the individual blushes below, but for now enjoy the swatches!
Nars Killing Me Softly Palette (Limited Edition)
- Albatross : This is a very odd colour! It’s golden but it has a bit of green in it, but it looks great on the skin. Much like Orgasm it catches the light beautifully. Very different from my other highlighters.
- Gilda : A lovely peachy coral shade with no shimmer and a matte finish. It looks a little more pink on me but it’s the right coral balance between orange and pink.
- Orgasm : I can see why so many people love and hate this! The shimmer can look ott but I honestly feel like I don’t need a highlighter if I’m using this. I like to use a very light hand with this though. The colour is really flattering and I tend to wear this more during weddings, festivals etc.
- Outlaw : I bought the palette mainly for the three shades above. I’ll be honest, this is my least used Nars shade. It’s a deep plummy pink but it’s the shimmer that ruins it for me. I might have liked this better if it was matte.
Nars Deep Throat : Review : The saviour for those who want Orgasm sans shimmer. The pink is equally peachy and flattering, the shimmer a lot more fine and subtle, the blush itself is very soft and buildable.
Nars Taj Mahal : Review : How can you not fall in love with that colour? Taj Mahal is a very vibrant yellow based orange with gold shimmer. It looks a bit weird in the photo below but I have another picture in my review where my face isn’t looking so yellow! When I do wear this, I keep my eyes heavily lined and the rest very bare.
Nars Douceur : Review : It’s the blush I use when I want to look like I have no blush on! It’s so perfect for office/meetings. I was incredibly blush shy at the beginning and Douceur was a stepping stone to rest of the spectrum! It’s a very grey dusty mauve (matte) shade but surprisingly on me, it looks a bit more pink. I know a lot of ladies love to contour with this, it definitely enhances my natural contour line as well.
Nars Lovejoy : Review : I don’t find a lot of talk about Lovejoy. Perhaps because it looks a bit too brown in the pan, when applied sheer it’s a rosy brown shade with subtle shimmer. It’s also one of my most worn shades.
Hope you enjoyed the swatches! All of these shades would look great on Indian/South Asian skintones. Let me know your Nars blush stories and favourites!
Sorry if my base looks weird, I was trying a different concealer and had no foundation on. Eyeshadows used are from the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita palette.
