One of Lakme’s best launches this year was the 9 to 5 Stylist range meant for office going peeps. The Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lip Color are a range of matte lipsticks in the nude, browns, pinks and red realm of colours.
Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lip Color in Coffee Command is a really pretty peachy brown shade. It might seem like a MLBB shade for Indian skintones and pigmented lips, but it’s a tad bit more peachy. This is the first MLBB shade I have which doesn’t have a hint of pink. The peachy tone looks gorgeous on warmer skintones though.
This is very pigmented and creamy. One swipe is good enough. There’s also no shimmer, some of the 9 to 5 shades do though.
I like the texture of the lipstick. It’s creamy when you apply it and goes on smoothly. It takes a while for it to set and turn into a matte finish. It’s not the kind of matte that’s as drying as Mac Mattes or even Retro Mattes. It’s more comfortable to wear in that respect.
However, if you have chapped lips, it will show through including any other unevenness in texture. When it turns matte it does accentuate lines. I need good lips to pull it off!
This can weather through a mild meal and snacks. Overall, this lasts well for about 6 hours and rapidly fades. Eventually, there’s a thin film of colour left.
I like the rose gold colour of the packaging, but the metal cap feels very flimsy. Also, the lipstick kinda woobles, not very firmly stuck on the base.
You get 3.6g of product for Rs. 400 which is quite alright price wise. I love wearing this lipstick with peachy blushes, very neutral and work appropriate.
Maybelline My Mahogany is the closest colour that I have but it has more pink in it. Mac Touch is a darker brown. YSL Ultimate Beige and Lakme Enrich 129 is are also more pink.
