Lakme Absolute Lip Tint in Orange Tease

It is officially winter in Pune, I had to bring out my fuzzy socks and a sweater during the day! Scarf season is here! ^_^

This is also the time for comfortable moisturising lipsticks and here’s one product that fits the bill. Lakme Absolute Lip Tint in Orange Tease came out last year. I’m not exactly sure if these are limited edition because I can still see them online or on counters. The shade Orange Tease is a bright orange with a slight coral tint. It’s not neon but it’s definitely bright.

If you love this colour, Revlon’s Matte Balm in Striking is similar but more intense. Nyx Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler is a bit more pink and Mac Morange is just straight up bright orange.

The pigmentation is a bit inconsistent throughout the range but this shade is very pigmented when layered. You can get full opaque coverage with 2-3 swipes. It’s soft to apply, doesn’t bleed or accentuate problem areas. You can comfortably wear this in winters if you have chapped lips.

The staying power is average but similar to other sheer lip crayons. It lasts around 3-4 hours and doesn’t leave a stain behind. It will pretty much get wiped out if you have a heavy meal.

The packaging is alright, it’s not bad but the lid does feel a bit flimsy. I like that it’s retractable like the other lip crayons. You get 2g of product which seems a little less for Rs. 800. When it first launched this price seem completely out o the ballpark but  a lot of recent lip products from drugstore brands seem to be priced at the 700-800 range. But you can find Lakme products on sale pretty often, so always look for a bargain.

If I had to compare overall, these are a little less moisturizing than the Clinique Chubby Sticks but more pigmented, yet not as pigmented as Chubby Stick Intense. The lip crayons like Revlon Lacquer Balm, Bourjois Color Boost, the ones from Rimmel and L’oreal are pretty much in the same boat for me as this. An hour of wear time here or there really doesn’t make that big a difference for me.

This totally looks like something I’d wear! Glad to hear it’s moisturizing. Unless it’s a matte lipstick, I simply refuse to buy lip products that aren’t!

It wouldn’t replace a lip balm but it certainly doesn’t dry out my lips. I know what you mean, I seem to have chronic dryness and these kind of products are just so comfortable. :)

I see you love your orange lipsticks lol. It’s pretty..I dont wear orange too much myself but I can wear a toned own orange/more coral I guess without much issue! This has been the year of chubby lip pencils for sure. And thats because they are so darn functional and cute!

Love them, yes, wish I’d wear them more often, yes! I feel like I can pull off orange when it’s more towards red (like Lady Danger) or wear a sheer/toned down one when it’s brighter.
I love these lip crayons, part of me is excited at the prospect of applying “crayons” to my face. 😐
