Lip Balm Army

Winter dictates that all lip balms in the arsenal are to be released this time of the year. I think that’s enough metaphors for one post. :)

It doesn’t get as cold as New Delhi in my city, but the air is very dry and even people with perfectly normal lips start having problems in winter. Here’s what I use to keep my lips soft and nourished at all times.

The Essential

You might have heard of Nuxe Reve de Miel plenty times by now. I’ll keep it short and sweet. It’s hydrating, actually repairs lips and keeps them soft over a long time. The semi matte finish and texture is great. I always use this at night, maybe in the morning if I feel like I need something extra.

Light and Plentiful

I have a dream, collecting all the EOS lip balm types in the world. I’m currently on my second one, Blueberry. It’s gonna take a while! I’ve previously reviewed the EOS Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet which is pretty much flat now and I keep it near my desk. It’s a good lip balm for day wear. I can wear lip products over it and it’s not too slippy or shiny.

Handbag Edition : Tinted

Okay, this was an impulse buy and one that I won’t be repurchasing because I don’t think I need it. Dior Lip Glow adds a unique tint to your lips depending on the temperature. Mine turns a very nice deep pink and it’s very moisturising. Plus, how cute is that packaging?

Handbag Edition : Problem Solver

I use my Dior Lip Glow sparingly but when I’m on the go and need some lip soothing, I turn to the Nivea Lip Balm as I have for the last 25 years. If it’s not chapped lips (which I admit happens rarely now) my recurrent problem is irritation around the lips due to sun sensitivity. This takes care of it in seconds. It’s also really cheap and tiny so I can carry it in any kind of bag when I’m out.

These are some of the lip balms I’ve used before and love but don’t have them at the moment. The Body Shop Hemp Lip Protector is a good replacement for EOS, it’s a light day time balm. L’occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm is a thick moisturizing balm you can substitute for Nuxe.

Let me know what you love using! Happy Holidays! ^_^

Nue Rêve de Miel all the way. I use it every night and during the colder months in the morning, too, taking it off before I apply lipstick. It is great.

In my handbags are several pots of Lush “Honey Trap”. I like all of their flavors, but “Honey Trap” was the one I used when Mr. Loca and I started dating, so it is my favorite for nostalgic reasons.

I loved Lush but they actually closed shop in India a while back. I loved their lip scrubs!
Agree about Nuxe, it’s just perfect. It’s like finding the one, I don’t need to look for other lip balms anymore. :p

        No Lush in India? Shocking!

I still haven’t found a lip balm which I am crazy over, but Burts bees comes close.

    • Xuvious

I’ve never really tried anything from Burts Bees before but yes, heard all good things about the lip balms. :)

You have a great lipbalm army there. I love eos though I am yet to try Nuxe that which is so raved about. Merry Christmas.

    • Xuvious

Hope you had a lovely holiday! Definitely try Nuxe if you’re in the market for something new. :)

  • Agata

Once again, I definitely need to try the Nuxe balm. I am still on the Revo Gingerbread latte kick!

    • Xuvious

Those Revo one’s are so cute though, like tiny robots. :)

We are the same! I have the Dior in my bag and Nuxe Reve de Miel everywhere else! Absolutely love them!

Seriously my room has a lip balm every 3 ft, it’s madness! 😉

I remember going crazy collecting those EOS balms when they first came out. I made my boyfriend drive me all over the places to collect every color. LOL! They are so cute and fun but too bad they are not hydrating enough for my super dry lips. I loved the Dior Lip Glow so much as well but haven’t repurchased yet because as a beauty blogger, I’m always looking to try new things. Hehe. Next to try is the Nuxe one! :)

I just want to collect them all and keep them in a nest. :)

I finished one EOS, got annoyed with the shape once it got flat and swore not to buy it again. Guess what I have now? The new coconut-infused EOS, LOL. It’s a little more softer and emollient than the originals, which I like a lot. I loved the Dior Lip Glow at first but it started to give me neon pink lips so I passed it on to my baby sister who loved it more than I initially did. The Nivea I haven’t tried but a fresh tube is sitting in my untried pile right now.

I’ve not seen these new EOS ones! Lol my flat EOS is now shaping up like a nipple, it’s very awkward to use! I’m going to start using the new one soon.
