Hey guys! Hope the weekend is going well! ^_^
If you don’t know already, I’m a huge fan of the L’oreal Moist Matte lipsticks. I’ve previously reviewed the shades Lincoln Rose and Glamour Fuchsia, time to review one of the few neutral shades in the range.
L’oreal Moist Matte Lipstick in Maple Mocha is a straight up brown. I feel like it’s a perfect terracotta kind of colour, it’s that burnt orange kind of brown. I initially thought it would be a lot like Mac Mocha, but Mocha has a bit of pink in it, as does Maybelline My Mahogany. Lakme 9 to 5 in Coffee Command is similar but a bit more yellow while Mac Touch is a lot darker.
Much like the other shades in this range, this lipstick is very pigmented. The layers are also very thin considering how pigmented it is which keeps this lipstick feeling very light on the lips.
The finish is a suede velvet kind of matte rather than an all out drying matte. Compared to Mac Matte finishes, these lipsticks are much creamer, relatively less drying but also not so matte.
It also lasts a very long time, easily more than 8 hours. It stays in tact, doesn’t budge, no problems like feathering or bleeding. Since it’s thin, it hugs the texture of your skin so you do need good lips to pull it off, as is the case with more matte finish lip products.
I packaging is really stunning, I love the metallic colour with the shade on the outside. You get 4.2g for Rs. 899 which is a bit pricey for L’oreal but you can easily get this on discount online. All links are below.
