Maybelline Color Show Glitter Mania in Dazzling Diva, Red Carpet and Starry Night

So if you’ve been reading the blogs, everyone’s going crazy over the new Maybelline Color Show Glitter Mania nail polishes! They might just be the best thing launched in the new year so far!

I may be a budding lipstick addict but I’m still a nail polish addict at heart. Add glitter into the mix and I’m floored. Ever since the textured nail polishes were launched, all the expensive ones like OPI Liquid Sand, Zoya Pixie Sand just aren’t very easily available in India. But the Colorshow ones are amazing quality and the price is very reasonable.

I have three colours to share with you today :

Dazzling Diva : A very very blingy with multi sized silver glitter

Red Carpet : This one’s my favourite. It’s a gorgeous red with subtle gold and pink shimmer. It’s so lovely!

Starry Night : Much like the name, it’s a black base with silver glitter.

On the whole, the quality is consistent across the range. I only felt that Starry Night was sightly more sheer than the other two. But an extra coat and you can get opaque coverage. For others, just two coats are enough to get even coverage. Speaking of even, I love how the glitter spreads well and there’s no patchiness gathering at the edges. It also dries quite quickly.

These also last a very long time on me. I wore Red Carpet on my toes for 15 days and it still didn’t ship. On my nails they lasted the entire week with just a bit of tipwear towards the end. Stellar formula and longevity. The only other textured polish I own is OPI Liquid Sand in Stay the Night. Quality wise it’s very similar.

We all now glitter polish is a pain to remove, but this one also comes off relatively easily. I keep it pressed with cotton for about 2 minutes and majority of it comes off with one swipe. That’s always a bonus!

Now textured polish is a very personal thing, you may not like the rough matte finish. I wasn’t into it initially, but it feels like sandpaper and I really like it now. I hope Maybelline comes out with more on trend collections though, there have been a ton of Color Show collections that haven’t released in India.

The packaging isn’t very amazing, the cap feels a bit flimsy but at Rs.125 (for 6ml) I’m not complaining at all. I can deal with a thin brush for the formula.

If you’ve tried these let me know your favourite colour! I also have my eye on Pink Champagne! ^_^
