I’m very shy when it comes to red lipsticks. After finding my perfect cooled toned red (Revlon True Red), I was on the hunt for a darker red . Not a vampy one necessarily, just a darker one.
I stumbled upon Brick Rose on another blog with a review and I fell in love with it. It’s perfect for a medium deep skintone like mine. I think it’s especially beautiful on darker skintones but the quality is unmatched except by a select few.
Brick Rose is an apt name for the color. It certainly is a brick like red with a warm-toned dark appearance. It doesn’t look too bright and clash with darker skintones.
It’s heavily pigmented and one swipe is enough to get good amount of product on the lips. It glides really smoothly and overall gives a very even and smooth appearance to the lips.
It doesn’t bleed for feather and stays put the entire time. I love the finish though. It’s a semi matte satiny finish with shine. It makes the lips look softer and fuller. I like how it fills in the lips and looks naturally smooth. It isn’t particularly hydrating. But to carry this off well, I recommend exfoliating and moisturizing in advance.
The new Colorsenational packaging is better than the previous one. It feels sturdier. The lipsticks are slightly bigger in diameter than your average lipstick and shorter. They are travel friendly and I like the size.
I haven’t worn this far too enough but it has lasted for atleast 6 hours. That’s pretty decent. It isn’t transfer resistant but leaves a stain. If you reapply and blot a couple of times, you will get a decent transfer resistant finish. It’s perfect for night outs and special occasions.
For the price of Rs. 220 and 4.2g it’s as good as a Mac lipstick. It’s one of the best value for money buys.
