I feel like I’m not too excited about new nail polish collections these days. Granted, there are only so many colours and texture combinations one can make but I feel like everything’s already been done. I’ve been content to go over my collection again and again to find shades I fall in love with.
Everyone and their grandma purchased the limited edition Chanel Peridot when it came out except me because it was inaccessible at the time. Again, not a revolutionary shade, but it set a trend. Thankfully, the gold to teal duochrome polish is now available in almost all brands. I’m very glad I got my hands on OPI Just Spotted The Lizard, a beautiful antique gold duochrome dupe from the Spiderman collection!
The formula is similar to to other OPI microshimmer polishes like Ink or Warm & Fozzie. The consistency is thin with medium opacity. You need two thin coats to get an even opaque coverage. I love the metallic glossy finish, the duochrome is prominent as well and changes with the lighting.
I like the wide brush for even application and it doesn’t pool or gather at the edges. This does last me for the entire week with some minor tip wear (mostly on my right hand). It does lose a bit of shine throughout the week so using a topcoat is a good idea.
I would say these are mid range in terms of price but worth it. You get 15ml product for around $9. The price in India varies online, you can find for anything between Rs. 450 to 700. The formula is excellent and the polishes themselves will last you for years, won’t dry up after a few months like other cheaper brands.
I know, I need a manicure. I’m one of those people who hates going to the salon though. Honestly, if I could cut my own hair, I’d do it at home.
How often do you change up your nail polish routine? Mine has been set in stone for the last 2-3 years. Friday nights are when all the action happens! I put on Netflix or marathon YT while I take of my polish, cut, buff and moisturize them. Then go on two coats while I keep my hands idle for the next crucial 10 minutes.
Have a great week! ^_^
