I think a clarifying shampoo is very important in a hair care routine. For everyday shampoos it’s best to use a mild one. However, over the week you do get a lot of built up of product in your hair. Especially if you live in hot and humid climates. It’s good to use a strong shampoo that just cleanses everything once every week or fortnight. I clarifying shampoo does just that (or is supposed to! )

I don’t use a lot of hairspray other than my heat protectant. But I use a dry shampoo 2-3 times a week. That coupled with a humid climate makesmy hair feel really heavy by the end of the week. I use a clarifying shampoo every 10-15 days just to get rid of everything else.

Redken’s Cleansing Cream Shampoo (a fancier name) is one of the good ones I was recommended. And I’m not disappointed with it. It has nice minty and fruity smell which is mild. It doesn’t bother at all. I hate it when shampoos have an overbearing fragrance. Your scalp and hair just feels  so clean and light after using this!

The shampoo is a white cream and lathers well. The recommened way of applying it is keeping it on for around 5 minutes and then rinsing it off. I do use conditioner after this. This shampoo is suitable for any hairtype.

I think the bottle is  a bit pricey. But this does last you for a really log time. You don’t need a lot of product to lather; it’s moderate. There aren’t many clarifying shampoo’s readily available in the Indian market yet, so if you manage to get your hands on one that’s good, I’d be happy with that!
