I’m back with another Kissable Balm Stain review! I reviewed it in the shade Honey a few days back and I like this one just as much!
Today’s review is the shade Smitten and umm… I was say the clique… I am smitten with it.
It’s one of the more pigmented shades in the range. It looks like a really dark plum in the tube but it’s a bright plum pink. It’s definitely cool toned and looks way brighter than the usual plums. What I like about the shade is that it isn’t a neon colour, it will look good on all skintones too.
The consistency of this is thin and very balm like. But it doesn’t feel sticky or heavy on the lips. It glides really well and even using a lighter touch imparts a lot of colour. Also, if you apply too much pressure, it can disintegrate or slip while applying; it’s that creamy.
The stain on this lasts for ages! I had to use a make up remover and cleanser to get this off completely. It’s moisturizing but only so for the first 3-4 hours. After that, it looks like a true stain which gradually fades but overall, this stays on for 7-8 hours. At this point, it can accentuate lines on the lips if you have dry lips.
It’s very pigmented but needs to be built up. You can see that the swatch looks very sheer but when you built it up on the lip it can also cover pigmentation and look even.
I like the cute crayon packaging. It’s very easy to travel with and apply on the go. You get around 2.7g of product for Rs. 600.
On another note, am I the only one who thinks brands should do away with the ridiculous long names?
If you want more pigment and don’t mind reapplying a lip balm, Revlon one is good value for money. If you want one that’s more moisturizing but not really staining, go for the Clinique one. I can’t really say much about the Lakme one because I haven’t tried it out yet. If you have tried it, let me know which of the three you prefer.
