Ahhh…. it’s Monday again!! While I try to beat the Monday blues with a nice cup of tea, I also attempt to be concise and objective about this review. Why? Because I love it so much, that I explode with !!!!! every few seconds!!! See what I mean?
Well, the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain’s have had tricky record in India I think. They started out with some popularity when launched and while the product is good, people were concerned about the price. But then came along Lakme Pop Tints which were more exorbitant and out went the apprehension about the Kissable Balm Stains!
I am quite late to review this, but I’ve been using it for almost 2 months now and I have a good handle on it’s pros and cons by now.
The Kissable Balm Stain in the shade Honey is the one I love the most. It’s been in my travel makeup bag and purse ever since I bought it. There is some kick I get from applying makeup like a 2 yr old me would, in the form of a crayon. Does anyone remember the lipstick shaped red-pink candy you would get in stores? You basically had to lick it but I enjoyed applying it on my lips and then smacking them! I can very well admit that it was my first lipstick, the unknown lipstick candy in the gaudy pink plastic packaging!
But I digress… Honey is a lovely light pink shade and a rather tricky colour. It looks very dark in the tube, it looks very warm when I swatch it and more cool toned on my lips! It’s not exactly my lip colour, which is more brown but it hides the pigmentation and gives me a soft pink colour. It looks amazing and has really made me embrace pink for officewear!
The consistency is very balm like but thin. If you like lip butters but didn’t like the pigmentation so much, you will like these because they are moisturizing and really do stain your lips. They feel very light on the lips and moisturizing. You can tell in the tube itself that it’s very creamy and it glides very easily on the lips.
These last well but they don’t moisturize your lips for long. After 3 hours it’s just the lip stain and your lips will start to feel dry. But there is a really pretty stain on the lips which doesn’t fade for ages. I applied it in the morning and the stain stays through a meal and when I’m back from office, a mild stain is still there. Honey is also a very soft colour, if you were to use one of the darker colours like Smitten, the stain stays on for a longer duration.
I do like the packaging of this, it’s like a cute little crayon and very similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks. The silver thing at the end is what you twist up.
You get 2.7g of product for about Rs. 600 which may seem absurd to some and cheap for others. But if you want to use stains everyday that also moisturize, this is a good buy.
