Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Kiss Me Coral

Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks are like the stalwards of good affordable lipsticks in India. Cherries in the Snow is another classic shade I like. Today, I’ll be reviewing Kiss Me Coral.

The name Kiss Me Coral is a bit misleading as there really is no pink in the shade. It’s a muted deep orange. I have a couple of comparison swatches below. Maybelline Bronze Orange is deeper but still muted, Milani Orange-Gina is very shimmery and a lot lighter, Revlon Lacquer Balm in Tease is a sheer and glossier version. I included Mac Morange and Lady Danger so you can see how much more muted the shade is.

I’d say if you’re afraid of orange lipsticks but want to get into it, the deeper muted shades are the way to go. Also if you have a deeper skintone, the lighter oranges might wash you out but shades like Kiss Me Coral are perfect.

The lipstick itself is very very pigmented. You get good payoff in one swipe and it covers any pigmentation. While the lipstick is very creamy, it’s not thick. Each layer is quite thin and hence easy to layer on.

These aren’t heavy on the lip and very comfortable to wear, I don’t find them particularly drying or hydrating. It’s sort of in the middle. It has some slip but after a while it won’t budge so easily. It looks quite glossy, atleast for the first few hours until it starts fading gradually.

The staying power is quite good if you don’t eat or drink. Unfortunately it’s prone to transfer very easily. You can try wearing this over  a lip liner or blotting if you want to make this last longer. You get comfortable 6-7 hours of wear but I’m guessing you will need to eat/drink at some point!

The packaging feels ancient and not glamorous at all. Even so, for me it has a almost vintage feel because I remember using one of these when I was KG, it’s very nostalgic.

You get 4.4g of product for Rs.550, which judging by today’s prices is very reasonable. You can often find this on discounts if you look around though.
