Hope you guys are having a great weekend! Here’s a product I bought from ASOS a while back, not sure if it’s available in India yet but it should be!
Rimmel is a really good affordable brand (especially now that all brands are jacking up their prices). The Scandaleyes range has some of the best eye products out there. Here’s the Rimmel Scandaleyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner in black.
It’s basically a felt tip liner and the nib is a bit like a highlighter. It can be used in many ways to get the thickness you require. It can be super precise or just broad if you want that thick liner.
Starting with the colour, it is a nice dark black. A lot of felt tip blacks tend to have that green base which looks awful, this one doesn’t.
It’s very pigmented and the consistency isn’t too runny for a felt tip. Might still be thinner than your usual liquid liner this one is pretty good. It’s always even throughout the line. The only tiny problem I faced, was with the broader tip, it’s more pigmented on the sides than in the middle. So you have to maybe go over it 2-3 times to get it to look even.
With regular use it will work well but if you’re using it after a long time, just do a few strokes somewhere else first as it may not be as pigmented in the beginning.
I’ve used it for 6 months now and it hasn’t dried out but do keep in mind that I don’t use this everyday. The nib is mostly sharp as before and sturdy as well. The finish that you get looks more stark and a bit more glossy than your normal pencil liner.
It lasts all day, around 8 hours and more. It will stay on longer if you don’t remove it! It also comes off easily with cleansing oil. It doesn’t separate or feather, quality wise I’m very pleased with it.
It’s safe to use on the waterline, that’s a plus point. After it sets, it’s also smudgeproof although it will deplete a bit if you rub very hard. It also says it’s waterproof but I really don’t see it. It doesn’t come off completely but a huge chunk of it goes away. That’s not waterproof in my book.
The packaging is really nice and the main draw is the shape of the nib. You get 1.1ml for £5.49 or around Rs. 560. It’s not dead cheap but quite alright. As usual, there was a discount at ASOS when I bought this for around £3.
If you want something more precise, there’s also a micro liner in this same range. It’s a very very thin felt liner.
