Stila Merry and Bright Palette
I cannot rave about Stila products enough! They have awesome stuff at decent prices. If you find still find them expensive, they are pretty much always on sale on some website!
I was finding my travel makeup bag getting larger and I really wanted a palette of some sort just to organize better. Generally, while travelling I don’t have a lot of time for makeup anyway. It’s just handy to have everything in one place rather than scouring through my bag for the right eye/cheek/lip combo! I bought this palette from Asos along with a Lip Glaze. It was 45% off and I think I got it for£5 instead of £12.50! BEST.BARGAIN.EVER.
Stila Merry and Bright Palette was a part of one of their Holiday collections. I think it’s LE but I’m not too sure. It has 6 eyeshadows, 1 lip/cheek tint and a huge ass mirror.
The colours in the palette is what mainly drew me towards it, they’re gorgeous and you can create many different looks from it. Second, the tint would actually show up and suit my NC40 skintone. Cream blushes always apply easily and you don’t really need a brush. Thirdly, the packaging is tiny and doesn’t take up much space. It leaves a lot more room for things like foundation, concealer, powder etc which typically you can’t leave out and need more room.
The eyeshadow colours Glisten and Joyful are gorgeous. Butterscotch is a really good crease and overall lid color. Molosses is more complex with pink/red shimmer. You also get a Convertible Color in Lillium which is a soft pink.
The eyeshadows apply very easily and glide well. They’re not too powdery to spread everywhere and the pigmentation is quite good. They last very well for 6-7 hours. I wore this to a few weddings and by the time I was back, these were still in place.
Chill – It’s a good matte shadow for the browbone. It’s a very light flesh tone colour.
Glisten – It’s a pearl finish almost rose gold like colour. It has a peach base with an insane amount of silver shimmer, it’s gorgeous!
Joyful – Also pearl finish, this is bronze brown colour. I probably use this the most, it looks very pretty.
Ebony – Ebony is a matte black shade. Perfect for smokey eyes.
Butterscotch – This is matte light brown shade. It’s a great crease colour.
Molosses – This is a very complex brown shade with pink/red shimmer. It looks great if you’re going for a darker eye look.
The blush can also be used on the lips but I haven’t tried it! It gives a sheer wash of colour but can be build up gradually to still keep it natural. I really love the colour, it just gives that hint of pink on the cheeks without looking too in your face. This stayed on well for 4 hours, but it did gradually fade a bit.
Overall, I’m really pleased with this palette! They come our with stuff like this every year, you should give it a thought if you plan on buying a palette.
