It finally rained this week! All of a sudden the weather is so pleasant and cool! Anywho… as the name suggests, Stila’s tinted moisturizer is perfect for summer if you don’t want heavy coverage.
Tinted moisturizers blend very well with the skin and provide a more natural look. It’s suitable if you don’t need a lot of coverage. They don’t last very long though. So it really depends on your needs on what works best for you and your skin. It’s sheer and oil free. It does even out my skin and stays well for half a day. It doesn’t leave dryness or patchiness when it fades.
I have it in the shade Dark 01 which is similar to Nars Syracuse or Mac NC35-40. It’s available in 8-10 shades which covers all ranges well. I imagine this is hydrating enough for oily skin. But my skin being very dry, I always apply this over a moisturizer. The finish isn’t dewy or matte in the extremes, it’s somewhere in between. It looks very natural and the skin appears soft.
It has SPF 30; great for hot summer days. The best thing I like about this is that I can just put this, concealer and go out of the house. It feels extremely light on the skin. The packaging looks good and travel friendly but not very practical. It has a twist cap and you need to apply pressure to get product out. It does spurt a bit too much at times and you can’t control the pressure really well. I can see getting product out really difficult when it starts to dwindle.
I think tinted moisturizers have permanent place in my collection, maybe not this one.
