When it comes to blushes, I’m instantly attracted to the bright ones, the louder the better! But with time I’ve also found this certain browny plummy pink colour to suit me very well. I think Nars Douceur is one such blush but it has a bit of shimmer in it. I love the Tarte formula for blushes and picked up the very well received shade Exposed.
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush are sheer blushes for the most part and very soft and buildable. The colours are either Matte or with shimmer. Exposed is a nude shade, a browny duty pink. It also has some traces of a plummy undertone as well. It looks amazing for nude looks and also if you want a blush that’s not in your face.
This shade is matte and the blush just feels so soft when your swipe it. It’s also very sheer so you’d need to apply one or 2 times to get a nice flushed look. Can be build up if you need more colour. I just find this so easy to use even if I’m in a hurry in the morning. I take it once, swipe and blend, and do that once more and my blush stays on all day. I don’t have to worry if one area is darker than the other because it just blends so well; it looks very even and seamless.
What’s great about it is that you get that exact look all day. This lasts on me for 8-9 hours (not really 12) and the whole time the blush in terms of colour, placement is the same. A blush to last all day for office? This one wins hands down!
It also makes the skin appear even and smooth, doesn’t settle into pores. The finish is matte but not powdery at all. It just looks very seamless with whatever foundation and base you use.
Ingredients wise I think this contains natural clay which keeps the skin hydrated. I’ve also taken the following excerpt from the Sephora page (link below)
-Vitamins A and E: Act as anti-inflammatory emollients and protect against free radical damage.
-Vitamin C: Fights free radical damage and prevents oxidative stress and premature signs of aging while brightening skin.
-Amazonian Clay: Reduces dryness and flakiness, improves skin clarity, elasticity, firmness, and texture while removing oil from the skin’s surface for smooth application and wear.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Synthetic Fragrances
I also like the packaging a lot, the outer cover is similar to the colour inside and you get a nice big mirror. You get a whopping 5.6g of product. That’s more than Nars (4.8) but less than Mac (6). This costs $26 which is a hefty price tag. I think overall if you had to choose, Mac would be a better choice price wise. But the lasting power and quality of this top notch.
