Hi guys! I’ve been rubbish at publishing my posts every other day this month. I’m going to try to do better! But so far 2015 has been great!
I’m also going to pop into Sephora this weekend, I feel bad for my bank account already… but it’s gotta happen! I hear there’s Givenchy, MUFE, Boscia, Estee Lauder, Benefit, Peter Thomas Roth, Nuxe and possibly Guerlain as well. I also got a dream last night where I was shopping in there for hours and magically they gave me my entire order for free because I was the 100th customer or something. *shakes head*
Anyway moving on, one brand I won’t be finding in there is Tarte but here’s another pretty shade from the Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush range. I have Exposed which is seriously one of the best blushes ever. So far, I’ve been successful in not letting my Tarte collection of out of control (something that’s happened with Nars blushes). Glisten is the only other shade I have.
Glisten falls into the peachy pink with gold shimmer or Nars Orgasm-like category. I’m sorry I don’t have comparison swatches but in terms of shimmer involved, it’s Orgasm > Glisten > Deep Throat. When it comes to colour I think Orgasm a bit more peachy, I’d say Glisten is more like Deep Throat. But, it is a very beautiful shade, appropriate for any kind of makeup look.
When swatched the glitter looks very gritty and prominent, that’s not how it looks on the cheek though! They are sheer blushes but very buildable. It looks very soft and natural on the cheeks and imparts a bit of glow depending on the lighting. Overall, I like the formula a lot. It’s not too powdery or chalky, it blends seamlessly on the skin and adapts well to any base used.
What I love the most about Tarte blushes is that even though you apply it sheer, it will stay on that way for a long time. Not sure about 12 hours but it definitely lasts 7-8 hours on me with just a little bit of fading.
If you’re looking for good quality blushes, Tarte is right here amongst the top and it’s not as expensive as some of the other high end brands. The packaging with the blush colour is also very cute and easy to identify. You get 5.6g of product for $26.
