Urban Decay Buck Eyeshadow

If I had a list of holy grail products, a list of makeup when you’re stuck on an island or the if-i-were-to-pick-only-one-eyeshadow list, this product would feature in all of them.

After that lengthy and dramatic introduction, this eye shadow is Urban Decay’s Buck. This one is also present in the Naked palette which is how I first encountered it. It’s a medium brown colour which has a neutral undertone I’d say. You can also see a bit of taupe in it. Either way, I loved this colour so much that I bought another eyeshadow so that I can carry it with me on the go.

The eyeshadow is very dense and pigmented. I rarely use an eye base but I get really good intensity with this. It’s matte ofcourse, but not powdery or chalky at all. This is also great for blending and merging colours for smokey eyes and other looks. If you have a lighter skintone, it’s also a good crease colour.

If I’m not up for any eye makeup, I just apply this over my lid with my finger. I have very pigmented lids and this colour gives my lids a very smooth and even look. It also brightens my lids a little. What I love best about this eye shadow is that it doesn’t crease, at all. When you apply it, the powder feels very dense and soft. It glides over the lid very smoothly and then stays put.

This stays on for hours. I’ve wear this in the morning and I’ve come back late at night and I can still see this on my lids albeit not as intense. I’d say this stays on well for 8+ hours.

I love the packaging of this. It’s in the new one where you can pop out the pan and use it in a palette. Urban Decay eyeshadows are really expensive and I don’t have plans of making a palette any time soon. But I’d love to try the shades Flipside and Woodstock. You get 1.5g (same as Mac) of product for around $14 which is very steep. But for me, this is one eyeshadow that I use everyday, so it’s money well spent and the quality is excellent. You get what you pay for, folks.

I don’t own all dupes for this but from what I’ve read, and you can correct me if I’m wrong, Inglot 360 is similar. Inglot 342 is more taupe like I believe. Perhaps Mac Texture, Soft Brown come in the same realm.

Unfortunately, Urban Decay isn’t available in Sephora in India. :( But I hope it launches soon. I bought this from Sephora in US but I think you can find this in HQhair.com, sometimes are StrawberryNet or AllCosmeticsWholesale. You can also try Nordstrom, Sasa, YesStyle.

I tend to go for mostly shimmer shadows. Love how pigmented this is though!

Yes, that’s generally a problem for me because my lids are very pigmented, but this is amazing. ^_^
