Jabong.com Online Shopping Review and Mini Haul

I honestly need to start a support group or something so I can curb my online shopping a bit! I’m generally well behaved but I relapse sometimes! Anyway here’s my review of Jabong.com which houses everyhing from napkins to shoes to handbags to rubber bands. I mainly shop the Beauty and Fashion sections so my review is mainly for those items.   Website and Design Jabong has one of the better designs in the ecommerce sector it’s very clean and easy to navigate. The menu is well thought out, everything is where it should be and works well. I also like that they have an iPhone app. The accounts layout is also quite good. My only problem is with the order view for tracking...

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Peach

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Peach

I’m back with a lipstick review. I had a busy weekend and no sleep! I want this week to get over already! I’m reviewing the Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Peach which is a true peachy shade with silver pearlescent bits. Most colours of this shade can look a bit more pink on me but this distinctly maintains it’s peach tone. So, very true to the name! I didn’t find this on par with True Red in terms of formula though. It’s a lightweight creamy formula but the pigmentation is sheer to medium. It takes 4-5 swipes to get the colour in the swatches. It’s still very pretty though, sometimes I like using it just sheer. The shimmer doesn’t leave a gritty...

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque

It’s not often I get to review a hair mask. Mostly because it takes me so long to use one up! I’m very irregular with my use of hair masks which amount to 2-3 times a month! But lo and behold, I have for you today, Macadamia Deep Repair Masque! I bought this long time ago from FeelUnique. As a rule, I only buy from there when there’s a good discount and it was one such occasion. I’ve previously used the Moroccan Oil Hair Restorative Mask, so you’ll see a bit of comparison as well. If you don’t know, this hair mask is basically a deep conditioner, or a more intense and potent version of your regular conditioner meant to induce moisture in your hair and...

Just Swatches : Mac Powder Blushes

Just Swatches : Mac Powder Blushes

This might seem as too many or too few to some, but here are my Mac blushes! I’ve had some of these for ages and one is fairly new! Also for reference, my skintone is NC40.   01. Peaches { Sheertone } – I bought this because I felt I was missing out on it (blush wise), and I was right! It’s sheer, super blendable and just a great colour to wear all year round. It’s a very pretty light peach. 02. Sunbasque { Sheertone Shimmer } – This was the first Mac blush I bought along with Plum Foolery. It has a bit of gold shimmer to it and it looks so good on medium skintones. Even on lighter skintones it gives such a nice sunkissed look. If you don’t mind...

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I stuffed myself with mangoes, one of the finer things to enjoy in summer! One thing Sephora does well are the Beauty Insider points and rewards! That’s how I managed to get my hands on the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon. It’s basically a liquid lipstick or lip cream which dries to a matte finish. I have to say, overall, I do like the product and I’d probably buy another shade too but this takes a bit of effort to get it right. Hence, this won’t be getting a full rating from me. Anyway, the shade Icon is a deep blue toned red. If you apply just one coat it will be quite bright. The colour intensifies and deepens when...

Bourjois Cream Blush in Healthy Glow

Bourjois Cream Blush in Healthy Glow

This is such a cute product! It’s the famous little round pot but now it houses a cream blush! Bourjois launched four shades in their Cream Blush range. I’m reviewing the shade 02 Healthy Glow. It’s a light peachy apricot colour. It tends to look a little bit more peachy pink on the skin and there’s also very subtle gold shimmer running through it. I find that the shimmer is more apparent in heavy swatches but not so much after your blend it. The colour is something that will suit both cool and warm skintones but might not show up as easily on deeper ones. But it gives a really nice peachy colour which looks very natural. It’s also a sheer blush which makes...

Top 10 Nail Polishes for Spring

Top 10 Nail Polishes for Spring

To be very honest, I don’t always follow the seasonal trends when it comes to nail polish. My mood and what catches my eye pretty much dictates what I’m wearing at the moment. But for those who do, here are my top 10 picks for spring and summer! I like blues, greens and this year, the radiant orchid shade as well. Let’s get started!       01. H&M Newlyweds – This is a lovely sheer polish which has a milky white base and gold shimmer densely scattered. It looks very understated and beautiful! 02. Formula X for Sephora Standout – Possibly the only baby pink colour I have but it makes a good nude shade as well. 03. Zoya Perrie – This is...

BareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 in The 15 Minutes

BareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 in The 15 Minutes

Every month I rotate makeup in my “daily use” section so I actually end up using the lot. Last month I got a lot of wear from this neglected eyeshadow duo. BareMinerals eyeshadows, particularly the READY range are raved about everywhere. So, when there was a nifty discount on FeelUnique, I grabbed this. The BareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 in The 15 Minutes is a two eyeshadow palette with the shades Page Six and Most Requested. Page Six is a warm baby pink with fine gold shimmer. It’s pigmented but not as much as Most Requested. In comparison, it feels just a tiny bit chalky, it’s not as buttery smooth as the other one. This definitely looks like a frost...

Max Factor Mini Effect Nail Polish in Fantasy Fire

Max Factor Mini Effect Nail Polish in Fantasy Fire

Today I’m bringing you yet another nail polish that is utterly gorgeous. But not the best buy for the price though. I saw it for the first time on this blog and I just had to have it! It’s part of the Mini Nail Polish line which are these tiny cute polish bottles. I lot of them are gorgeous complex shades including shimmers and duochromes. Anyway, I’ll get down to business. Fantasy Fire is a layering sheer polish with a MAJOR duochrome shift. It’s a blue-indigo base with shimmer that shifts from orange to green. It’s quite thin and not really meant to be worn on its own. It’ll take way too many coats to get it opaque and with such a tiny bottle (and...

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

The marketing behind this product is so intriguing with the world “miracle” and “recovery” thrown around a lot. It’s sets up high expectations! Around last year, I was looking for a face oil to incorporate in my skincare routine. I tried the Nuxe multi-use oil but it broke me out on my face. I just use it for my hair and other dry patches now. I decided to give Kiehl’s a try for the first time! Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a face serum or facial oil (whichever term you prefer) which claims to give you smooth, supple hydrated skin overnight. On that claim, it does come through but it won’t magically get rid of every spot or blemish...

March 2014 Magazine Mayhem

It’s March already! And there are some amazing covers this month! On a different note, I’ve decided what the Giveaway prize will be! It’ll be announced on 2nd April and I think it’ll keep it open for the month. Now I just need to figure out how to set it up.       I am not a Kardashian fan, that Vogue cover sent me in shock. But, the Jenner sisters look amazing in their Marie Claire Mexico cover. I’ve never noticed Elle Oriental before, which is for Lebanon I believe. But I love the model and its just so glam. I’m going to keep an eye out for it from next time. The Lorde V magazine cover is so now and iconic, it’s nice to see her...

L’oreal Shine Caresse Lip Gloss in Lolita

L’oreal Shine Caresse Lip Gloss in Lolita

Hey guys! Here’s a nice nude lip gloss! I got swept up in the hype of this being a YSL Glossy Stain dupe and promptly picked it up from Myntra.com! The L’oreal Shine Caresse Lip Gloss range is more like lip stains with a glossy finish. The shade Lolita is dusty mauvy pink. How this looks on your lips can change a bit because it’s sheer and your lip colour does show through. It looks more cool toned in the tube but it’s a very warm pink which is even better for Indian skintones. For me, it gives a sheer wash of colour and appears as a warm pink, very close MLBB shade. I also detected very subtle gold shimmer but it’s very fine. This particular shade is sheer...

L’occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm

L’occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm

From the vast sea of lip balms one has, sometimes you just need heavy duty stuff. That’s exactly what the L’occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm is for me. I have dry lips in general, even more so the winter and with sun exposure they sometimes also get very irritated along the edges. This lip balm works well to combat that keep them really well moisturised. This suits my skin type/condition really well but it is a very very thick consistency. But it’s also very soft, you have to be careful while applying, too much pressure and you might break the stick. It feels very soft on the lips but looks a bit waxy and more matte than shiny. You do get that heavy creamy feeling on the lips...

Nars Blush in Taj Mahal

Nars Blush in Taj Mahal

You know I have a soft spot for Nars blushes, but this one is actually my least used blush. I bought this when, like everyone else, I was having an orange phase. This seemed like the perfect blush for it. Nars Blush in Taj Mahal is a powder blush in orange with gold shimmer. When you blend it, you can really spot a nice gold sheen across it. It’s more of a yellowy-orange than a reddish one. I do really like the colour, it can seem too much for a neutral everyday look but if you apply a sheer layer, it can look great! It really warms your complexion. This is so so pigmented, it’s difficult to use. I mean that says more about me, rather than being the fault of a product. In...
