Khuraira Lipstick in Lady Obama

Posted on Jun 6, 2013 in Beauty, Make Up

Khuraira Lipstick in Lady Obama

A couple months ago I received some sample products from Khuraira. I also got a lipstick which I’ll be reviewing today. The color Lady Obama (nice name!) is a colour which I normally wouldn’t wear. But the colour is gorgeous and while it might look too mature at times, you need to find the right amount and occasion to pull it off! It’s a coppery brown in a frosty metallic finish. That describes it to the T. It has a lot of minute gold shimmer but it gives a very foil like finish. It’s very pigmented. With one swipe you get about medium coverage  and you need 2-3 more to get that foil like look. It glides easily but if you have dry lips, it will be difficult to...

Mac Peaches Blush

Mac Peaches Blush

You might have heard whispers and praises about Mac Peaches and this post will contribute to that! I discovered this blush very late and since then it’s been a very valued purchase for me. Mac’s blushes come in different finishes like Matte, Sheertone, Sheertone Shimmer etc. Peaches is a true peach matte blush. There is no other way to describe the colour, it’s a good yellow toned peach. It’s also very pigmented. You could get a subtle sheer finish with this or build it up for a more intense look. I love wearing my blushes subtle and Peaches is no exception. This looks beautiful on lighter skin tones and I was worried it might look a bit ashy on mine but it’s...

Fabindia Aloe & Cucumber Gel Face Pack

Hey guys, Hope you are all having a good weekend. It’s blogging Sunday for me as I attempt to catch up on posts and schedule some of them. I wanted to do an outfit photo but it’s really cloudy outside and no proper lighting indoors. I might post it next week! Since spring I’ve been using this product about once a week or just in between if I feel it. It’s the Fabindia Aloe & Cucumber Face Gel Pack. It’s basically a face mask but in gel form. You it all over your face avoiding the eye and mouth area and let it be for 10 minutes. Then you rinse it off. Now Im a very lazy person so if you give me mud packs and powders Ineill never use them because it’s...

May 2013 Magazine Mayhem

May comes to an end and I’m so looking forward to June as I’ll mostly be travelling then! ^_^ This month a lot of the covers had taken inspiration from the Great Gatsby and the 20′s. Btw, I loved the movie and the art direction. It was just brilliant and heart breaking.       Harper’s Bazaar India really did well this time with Sana Khan on the cover in a pretty pastel blue. Miley Cyrus in her V cover looks very unlike her usual self but still asserts well. Watching Emma Watson grow feels incredibly weird because I’m so used to Hermoine Granger. But she’s amazing in Bling Ring and her GQ is just that. Jennifer Lawrence is so adorable in...

Product Launch : ‘Say NO to Gaps’ The New Dove Intense Repair Range

‘You look exactly the same!’ While it’s great to hear that from someone you haven’t seen in years, you hope they don’t mean your hair. No woman enjoys wearing the same hairstyle day in and day out, much less for years together. We all love experimenting with our hair, whether its various styling products or instruments to make our hair look beautiful. In the attempt to look our best, we end up overlooking the daily damage we put our tresses through. Knowingly or unknowingly, hair damage is often self-inflicted. A gamut of factors are responsible for damaging hair, not just on a superficial level but from deep within. Constant and excessive exposure to the sun and daily...

Khuraira Dark Circle Primer

Khuraira Dark Circle Primer

A few months back, I received products from Khuraira Cosmetics. I had never heard of the brand before and decided to do some digging. It appears to be a cult-ish brand used mainly for pro makeup. It also has a good focus on women with deeper skintones and their range of products cater well to them.  One of their applauded products is the Dark Circle Primer. You might get alarmed when you see the photo, as it’s bright orange. But it’s use and the way it works is very essential if you have severe dark circles. The bright orange  counter acts the bluish purple colour and warms up the area. For deeper Indian, African skintones it’s a major problem when it comes to dark...

Vellvette Box : May 2013

I received the May Vellvette box yesterday and I’m liking it! This month, the theme is ‘organic’ and they’ve included products made from completely organic ingredients.     01. Tvam : Almond and Honey Scrub and Body Polisher (sample size) I’m eager to try this out. It has that nice ayurvedic scent.   02. Brocato : Curlinterrupted Smoothing & Hydrating Treatment Kit (sample size) A shampoo and a conditioner! I’ll be trying this out and might take it when I’m travelling! Good timing!   03. Flomar : Deluxe Shine Gloss Lipstick – D40 This is a gloss lipstick hybrid. It’s very creamy and sheer but glossy....

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten

I’m back with another Kissable Balm Stain review! I reviewed it in the shade Honey a few days back and I like this one just as much! Today’s review is the shade Smitten and umm… I was say the clique… I am smitten with it.  It’s one of the more pigmented shades in the range. It looks like a really dark plum in the tube but it’s a bright plum pink. It’s definitely cool toned and looks way brighter than the usual plums. What I like about the shade is that it isn’t a neon colour, it will look good on all skintones too. The consistency of this is thin and very balm like. But it doesn’t feel sticky or heavy on the lips. It glides really well...

Nails Inc Belgrave Place Nail Polish

Anytime I hit Wednesday on the calender, I start praying for the days to go faster so that the weekend will come sooner! Well, I’ve been doing that and testing out some old polishes from my stash for reviews! My dust bin is a mess of cotton balls! Nails Inc Belgrave Place is a really pretty blurple which was a launchpad for my mania with blue and purple nail polishes. It’s incredibly hard to describe the exact tone. It’s more violet than blue for sure and in light it will seem strongly like one but there are times when it’s that indigo shade as well. The consistency of this is very thin but it is gel like. I think the formula is very similar to Colorbar Apple...

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey

Ahhh…. it’s Monday again!! While I try to beat the Monday blues with a nice cup of tea, I also attempt to be concise and objective about this review. Why? Because I love it so much, that I explode with !!!!! every few seconds!!! See what I mean? Well, the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain’s have had tricky record in India I think. They started out with some popularity when launched and while the product is good, people were concerned about the price. But then came along Lakme Pop Tints which were more exorbitant and out went the apprehension about the Kissable Balm Stains! I am quite late to review this, but I’ve been using it for almost 2 months now and I have...

Rimmel Match Perfection Compact Powder in Soft Beige

Hello all! Today, I’m reviewing the Match Perfection Ultra Creamy Compact Powder from Rimmel in the shade Soft Beige. I bought this in combination with the Match Perfection Foundation. They compliment in each other and the shade is a good enough match for me as well. There aren’t too many shades to choose from and people with darker skintones might unfortunately, have trouble finding a match. The closest shade I got is Soft Beige. It isn’t an exact match but it blends well into my skin and looks even. What I love most about this powder, is the texture. The powder isn’t rough or chalky, it feels very smooth and buttery. It similar to Mac Foundation Fix Plus powders....

Free For All Friday : The ‘IT’ Coral and Lip Stain

Posted on May 17, 2013 in Beauty

Hello! It’s a lovely Friday, it’s cloudy, suggesting that it might rain. I also hauled yesterday, which puts me in a fabulous mood! So I wanted to start these weekly random posts to interact with you guys a bit more. Free For All Friday, which basically means, anything goes, say what’s on your mind etc seemed an apt title! But just to bring a little order to the chaos, I thought I’d throw in a topic and poll as well! So, what’s your favourite coral lipstick to wear this summer? I like Mac See Sheer. Yes, it isn’t your typical coral. It’s lustre finish so it’s buildable and very comfortable to wear everyday.  Which one do you prefer? Do you...

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Extra Strength Hair Serum

Hello peeps! Hope you are all having a good week. I’m glad it’s Wednesday, which means Friday isn’t far behind! So many months ago, I was thinking of using a hair serum just to see if it made it difference. To be honest it didn’t but I found other uses for this. John Frieda’s Frizz – Ease Super Strength Hair Serum was one I googled and I found decent reviews for it. Sadly, this just didn’t work for me as a serum. You apply this to damp or wet hair. You only need a coin size amount of the gel, just rub it in your palms and spread it across your hair. Now if you use this on your roots, you are bound to get greasy weighted down hair, especially if...
