I was travelling to cold countries where I knew I would be exposed to cold winds, low temperatures etc and I really wanted a good all in one cream that would keep the dryness at bay.
The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream was my pick. It’s a white coloured thick rich emulsion like cream. Consistency and texture wise it’s a bit similar to the Bath & Body Works Triple Moisture creams. It’s really thick but non greasy. It does however need a few minutes to sink in and get absorbed. But after that your skin is supple and soft for almost the whole day. You generally feel a bit of dryness in the evening.
It’s perfect to carry while travelling because you can use it on...
Skincare is where it’s at during winters. For a long time I’ve been relying on Bath & Body Works lotions. I had such a massive “squeee” moment when they first started selling in India.
Today, I’m reviewing the Bath & Body Works Body Lotion in Into The Wild. Into the Wild as you might suspect draws inspiration from jungles and rainforests. And it indeed does smell “wild”. It’s a mix of floral and fruity scents which I really like. It had a mix of mandarin, petals and white wood. It’s a sweet floral scent but not sickly candy like. If you liked Twilight Woods, you’d probably like this as well.
The lotion itself has a formula...
Winter is here and I’m so pleased! Boots, scarves, sweaters can now be flaunted! ^_^
Well that has nothing to do with my review here but I’m just excited! It’s quite odd to review masks because really, how can you measure how much of a difference a mask makes? I’ll try to be as detailed as I can.
The Body Shop Honey & Oat 3 in 1 Scrub Mask is obviously targeted towards lazy people like me who’d like cleansing, exfoliation and moisturizing to be done all in one! This one smells like honey and cereal but for some reason I wasn’t too fond of it. It isn’t bad or unpleasant, but I just didn’t find it very appealing.
This has a creamy...
I lot have a lot of different favourites this month, I’m mostly using stuff I’ve already shown before. But these are some everyday or occasion pieces I’ve enjoyed using the past month. Hope you all had a great Diwali! ^_^
01. Moisturiser : Clarins : HydraQuench Cream
I love how rich and soft this makes my skin. It’s perfect for winters and will last me all the way. It also smells lovely.
02. Blush : Nars : Deep Throat
The less shiny and peachy Orgasm. It gives a subtle pink flush with shimmer. Very soft on the skin.
03. Soap : Khadi : Aloe Vera and Jasmine
I’ve never really mentioned soaps on this blog before but I had an...
This post is a first of sorts! I love trying new products but there are certain ones I also buy again. I think this post would be a nice way to showcase products that really work for me.
Hope you like it!

It was a nice lazy Sunday for me. Felt a lot like Garfield!
I believe I have found the perfect toner for myself! My skin is quite dry and I feel most toners that have alcohol are too drying for me. My skin feels too tight and dried out after using them. This one is a perfect match for my skin type!
Avene Gentle Toner is meant for dry, very dry and sensitive skin. It feels really gentle on the skin and is still very effective. This gets rid of the little traces of makeup and dirt left on the skin. There’s no stinging or any other feeling like that at all. There’s also no residue after using this and my skin feels really clean and balanced. The toner is colourless and fragrance...
This is going to be a quick review, mainly because I’m crap at talking about fragrances.
I got this Nyassa Body Mist in Passion Burst in a Vellvette bag a while ago. I’ve never really tried anything from this brand before and I was pleasantly surprised!
The body mist is in the scent of roses and fruits and that’s pretty much all I can say about it. I’m not one to go for fruity/floral scents but I really liked this one! It’s not that old rose scent but more modern since it also has a fruity element to it.
This is a sample size bottle and even so, I like the packaging. I was expecting it to be cheap plastic but the bottle is actually glass and very weighty. The...
Finally, a Forest Essentials product I like a lot! I finished using this 2 months ago and realised I still haven’t reviewed it. After the last two Forest Essentials products I used, I wasn’t too keen on them. But I was surprised and quite happy with this one.
The Night Treatment Cream in Sandalwood & Saffron is a really rich and thick cream. I used this at night after cleansing and my skin was still soft the next morning. It’s cream/ecru in colour and feels really soft.
This gets absorbed pretty quickly and there’s no sticky or greasy feeling. Despite being really thick, it doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. It instantly makes your skin feel really smooth....
Time for a skincare post! Caudalie is a brand that got a lot of hype recently and I really wanted to try some of their stuff, especially since they use natural ingredients. There was a nice sale on FeelUnique and I bought this along with the Cleansing Water.
I’ve only ever used cleansing oils before and this is the first cleansing milk I’ve used. I have to say, I’m disappointed. Now this one clearly claims that it removes face and eye makeup but it’s just terrible at it. Even something small like removing sheer lipstick cannot be managed with this alone inspite of using it 2-3 times. It sort of dilutes and disperses the makeup but doesn’t get rid of it...
Time to spill your holy grails, products you can’t live without or just something new you tried this month! I was a bit adventurous with my eye makeup this month with bright purples.
My September 2013 Favourites -
Clockwise from Left : Inglot 439 Pearl, Inglot 415 Pearl, Mac Woodwinked, Mac Expensive Pink
01. Moisturizer : First Aid Beauty : Ultra Repair Cream
I love the scent of this cream and it’s very soft and effective. If you like Soap & Glory scents, you’ll like this too.
02. Body Mist : Nyassa : Passion Burst Body Mist
I mentioned this in my last favourites as well. I love using this in the second half of the day to feel...
I don’t think I’ve reviewed too many bath products here, this is a nice one I’ve been using recently. When Victoria’s Secret first came out on the online sites here, I knew I had to try one. I was a bit overwhelmed with the choice and didn’t really know which one to pick. ‘White cotton & pink lily’ looked like a harmless choice and I went for it.
Victoria’s Secret Sheer Love Daily Body Wash is a shower gel with a really nice lily scent. It’s a very fresh and clean type of scent. It’s floral and not heavily fruity or citrus like. It’s not very overpowering, but not so faint that it will just disappear. The gel is a...
I was looking for a body scrub that was also moisturizing and not too harsh. I chose The Body Shop’s Shea Body Scrub. It was the perfect buy for winter! I used this up a long time ago, but I still had the pictures so I thought I might as well review it.
Unlike most body scrubs I’ve used, this one really does moisture the skin 10x. I don’t feel the need to put on moisturizer after my shower when I use this, it makes the skin very supple and it lasts atleast half the day. This scrub has a lot of shea butter in it. When you first touch it, you will be overwhelmed with how creamy and soft it is or you might find it too slippery. It isn’t thin or runny, it’s creamy...
I don’t have too many few favourites for the last month. A lot of it is stuff I’ve been using for a while but failed to mention before.
August Favourites :
01. Body Mist : Nyassa : Passion Burst Body Mist (not pictured)
I got this in a Vellvette box and I’ve been keeping this in my office. I love the grapefruit scent, it’s very refreshing. The tiny bottle also makes it easy to carry on the go!
02. Toner : Avene : Gentle Toner
My previous one was very drying, but this one is so gentle and removes any leftover dirt and grime easily. I’ve really been loving Avene products, completely worth it.
03. Foundation : Mac : Face and...
Lush has a really good range of lip scrubs. I picked up the Sweet Lips one a couple of months ago. Now I’m not too regular with this. I generally use this when I notice my lips getting a bit cracked.
The Sweet Lips lip scrub is actually very easy to make by yourself. Just add sugar and jojoba oil together. The Lush one is basically the same thing mixed together. You apply it to the lips and rub well. This does eventually dissolve but it’s also very yummy!
Name : Sweet Lips Lip Scrub
Brand : Lush
Consistency : like rubbing sugar on your lips!
Texture : Particles are large but not very coarse
Fragrance : Sweet brown sugar...
I was actually going to post this last month but forgot and just discovered these pics this week. It’s a haul over 2 months. Some of the stuff I ordered online in India, Dubai airport and a Finnish pharmacy!
