The marketing behind this product is so intriguing with the world “miracle” and “recovery” thrown around a lot. It’s sets up high expectations!
Around last year, I was looking for a face oil to incorporate in my skincare routine. I tried the Nuxe multi-use oil but it broke me out on my face. I just use it for my hair and other dry patches now. I decided to give Kiehl’s a try for the first time!
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a face serum or facial oil (whichever term you prefer) which claims to give you smooth, supple hydrated skin overnight. On that claim, it does come through but it won’t magically get rid of every spot or blemish...
From the vast sea of lip balms one has, sometimes you just need heavy duty stuff. That’s exactly what the L’occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm is for me.
I have dry lips in general, even more so the winter and with sun exposure they sometimes also get very irritated along the edges. This lip balm works well to combat that keep them really well moisturised.
This suits my skin type/condition really well but it is a very very thick consistency. But it’s also very soft, you have to be careful while applying, too much pressure and you might break the stick.
It feels very soft on the lips but looks a bit waxy and more matte than shiny. You do get that heavy creamy feeling on the lips...
Here’s a skincare review for you! Sephora India is here and one of the benefits is Soap & Glory. Of course, I’m not in Delhi and I haven’t visited Sephora there yet, but get my drift…
Soap & Glory is a brand of good products and witty retro names! I picked up The Righteous Body Butter from MedPlusBeauty when it was available there.
This is very very thick cream. In comparison to the Bath & Body Works Triple Moisture or The Body Shop Body Butters, this feels more potent.
Warning, this is a product meant for very dry skin. For those of you who have oily skin, while it’s hydrating this might feel too greasy for you unless you plan on using this only at...
Hope you guys had a great weekend! Best to start off this week with a bit of wishful thinking! This is a more realistic wishlist for me because there are a few products that I might actually end up buying.
01. Origins : Face Mask : Drink Up 10 Minute Mask
Heard a lot of good stuff about this mask, might actually buy this. It’s a good hydrating mask.
02. Clinique : Blush : Cheek Pop Blush : Ginger Pop
I want these, hope they release soon in India. Ginger Pop looks like a perfect everyday blush.
03. Dior : Face Powder : Diorskin Nude Compact : Apricot Beige
I’m on the market for a new face powder. Should be light, little spf, a nice mirror, sturdy...
Hey guys! Is it raining in your city? I swear it’s been raining atleast once a month since October! It’s insane, but I’m not complaining! ^_^
Here are my favourites for Feb and Jan 2014! To be honest, this is a small favourites post because most of the things I’m using I’ve already covered multiple times in other posts!
01. Exfoliant : Dermalogica : Gentle Cream Cleanser
I’ve already reviewed it but it’s a really good chemical exfoliant. Love this!
02. Moisturizer : Korres : Wild Rose 24hr Moisturising Cream
This is very rich cream. I used this and the Clarins one in winter. You need a really tiny bit for this to...
I have another skincare review for you! This was also in my skincare routine and I’m so glad I found this product!
We all know (or not) how important exfoliation is. I’m still not the most knowledgeable person but over the last two years I’ve been trying out different products to see what works best for me and I’ve found a winner! Totally jumping on the chemical exfoliant bandwagon here!
Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant is a exfoliant in the form of a facemask. It’s main ingredients are lactic acid and salicylic acid which help remove dead skin cells. It’s exfoliation for the lazy!
This comes out as a very very thick paste, almost clay like. It’s...
I first heard about this product on Lisa Eldridge’s skincare video and my hunt for a water based makeup remover started there.
In general, up until last year I was using the usual oil and water combo makeup removers. But I hated that oily residue that was left behind, I always had to wash my face after using even a tiny bit. It became only worse when it came to correcting makeup, that little area of oiliness left behind.
I think Caudalie’s Cleansing Water was the first water based one I tried. I loved how it felt but it didn’t remove makeup as efficiently as Bioderma.
Bioderma Sensibio H2O is a micellar water solution developed specially for sensitive skin. It’s very...
Here’s a late January wishlist! I won’t be buying stuff anymore for atleast the next few months except essentials, so looking at this should calm me down.
01. Warehouse : Top : Knit top with lace front and embellishment
I’ve been eyeing this for a long time. It’s available on Koovs. Btw, does anyone keep getting those annoying phone calls from koovs.com the minute you add something in your cart? I feel like I should have bought this during the GOSF sale but on second thought, it’s not something I need.
02. Burberry : Perfume : Body EDP
I was also thinking of buying this from Koovs during GOSF more just left my cart empty at the end. I had a...
Soap & Glory has for a long time been a brand I’ve wanted to try. It’s available in Sephora India (which is only in Delhi) but luckily some online shops do carry it as well!
The Soap & Glory Scrub ‘Em and Leave ‘Em Body Buff is like a body scrub. It smells amazing, a sweet citrusy scent which isn’t too overwhelming.
The texture of the scrub is quite good. It has the salt like particles which make up the most content. It has tiny pink bead like granules and there is a certain amount of oil in it as well. It’s also sort of held together by the oil and isn’t a loose scrub.
When you apply it, it doesn’t feel drying at all. The scrub...
It feels incredibly weird to say, but today’s my birthday!! Happy Birthday to me!! Turning 25 today which is a bit depressing… mentally I think I’m still 10! Oh well, I’m supposedly more grown up and capable of sound rational decisions now, more so than last year! ^_^
I’m so glad my birthday is on a Saturday though, more time to go out and stuff.
For now, here are my favourites for December! I did a little haul last month which is kinda part of my birthday haul, so some new products are mentioned here. I’ve also posted my “Best of 2013” products post if you’re interested.
Photos and swatches!
01. Body Butter : Soap...
Hello all! Hope you are having a great weekend! I thought I’d do a post on my skincare routine. For the longest time I didn’t have any specific routine but reading other beauty blogs changed that!
Some of the steps I tend to skip on some days depending on how my day has been. So if it’s a lazy Sunday and I haven’t been out, I just wash my face and put on face cream. A few of the things like serums and masks I tend to use once a week.
I’ve stuck to this routine for almost a year and a bit more now and my skin is in much better shape. I have less breakouts, my skin doesn’t get flaky dry bits, just general dryness! It’s also cleaner at the end of the...
I’ve always wanted to try Clarins skincare but it’s just so damn expensive! Luckily, I was given this because a family member didn’t want to use it (omg what? why?) but in any case, good news for me!
The Clarins HydraQuench range in general is for hydration and moisturizing. There are a couple of different types available and also one including SPF 15. This one is the HydraQuench Cream meant for normal to dry skin.
Texture wise it’s a very rich and soft cream. It’s easy to apply, bleands well and wbsorbs quickly too. There’s no greasy feeling left behind or anything of the sort.
But I did find major issues with the longevity of this depending on how I...
Have you ever had a time when you come home all tired and just wanted to get clean and sleep? You just jump into the shower, get feel freshed now you just want to skip your post bath rituals and sleep; a lazy soul like you needs a bath and shower oil!
These are always marketed as a luxury item where you want to feel relaxed, the aroma is supposed to sooth you etc. Honestly, I don’t know how a bath product can relax me but I do like a product where I don’t have to spend 5-10 minutes moisturizing my body when I’m very very tired and sleepy.
Forest Essentials Bath & Shower Oil in Indian Rose Absolute is amazing! This is the very first bath oil I bought and I love it! I...
I was travelling to cold countries where I knew I would be exposed to cold winds, low temperatures etc and I really wanted a good all in one cream that would keep the dryness at bay.
The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream was my pick. It’s a white coloured thick rich emulsion like cream. Consistency and texture wise it’s a bit similar to the Bath & Body Works Triple Moisture creams. It’s really thick but non greasy. It does however need a few minutes to sink in and get absorbed. But after that your skin is supple and soft for almost the whole day. You generally feel a bit of dryness in the evening.
It’s perfect to carry while travelling because you can use it on...
Skincare is where it’s at during winters. For a long time I’ve been relying on Bath & Body Works lotions. I had such a massive “squeee” moment when they first started selling in India.
Today, I’m reviewing the Bath & Body Works Body Lotion in Into The Wild. Into the Wild as you might suspect draws inspiration from jungles and rainforests. And it indeed does smell “wild”. It’s a mix of floral and fruity scents which I really like. It had a mix of mandarin, petals and white wood. It’s a sweet floral scent but not sickly candy like. If you liked Twilight Woods, you’d probably like this as well.
The lotion itself has a formula...
