Bath & Body Works Twilight Woods Body Lotion

Bath & Body Works Twilight Woods Body Lotion

On this site I’ve confessed my love for Bath and Body Works many times. I’ve been using their body lotions for more than a year now and every time I like trying out a different scent. Why have so many, it’s incredibly hard to choose! Well, today I’m reviewing the Twilight Woods Body Lotion. At first I thought the scent would be woody and mild but I was surprised to get a very wild forest kind of scent. What on earth is wild forest you ask? Sweet, floral, fruity… put yourself in Avatar’s Pandora and imagine what it might feel like… Something of the sort. The quality of the body lotion is so good. It gets absorbed quickly and doesn’t leave any...

La Roche-Posay Effaclar A.I.

Hope you all had a good weekend! I just saw Star Trek and I loved it! Today, I’m reviewing an item that’s been in my skincare routine for the last 2-3 months. And I can’t do without it! La Roche-Posay is a french skincare brand and have a lot of products for treating various skin imperfections. Now there is a lot of confusion over what the products exactly do. You see, there are three Effaclar products and they work well together or separately as you require. I’ll try to explain the difference between them all in brief below - 1. Effaclar A.I. – The  AI stands for anti-imperfection. It’s a targeted spot treatment cream for breakouts and acne. So when you...

Narciso Rodriguez For Her Perfume

Narciso Rodriguez For Her Perfume

This was a very impulsive purchase for me. But it smells so amazing, I couldn’t not get it! I went into Parcos because I wanted to take a look at Rimmel, but I ended up buying only this. Narciso Rodriguez For Her comes in two types. The light pink bottle is is the Eau de Parfum, which is the concentrated one. I bought the Eau the Toilette because it’s still very strong and it was cheaper. How do I describe this scent… it’s definitely a scent for night time and special occasions. It has that floral, honey and slightly woody mix without being too much of either. I feel it’s very well balanced that way. It has top notes of honey, heart notes of amber and base...

April 2013 Favourites

I have a lot of old favourites this month and a couple of new ones as well. Some of the products are ones I use every week and I somehow always overlooked them for these posts. So let’s get started!             01. Nail Polish : Illamasqua : Phallic Phallic is such a beautiful deep shimmery blue. You could say it’s the perfect midnight blue. I will gush more about this in a another dedicated post, but I was wearing this a lot this month. I really loved the quality as well.   02. Nail Polish : Illamasqua : Viridian I bought this and Phallic at the same time. I’m in love with this as well. It looks amazing on nails. I was pretty much...

Vellvette Box : March and April 2013

Hello darlings! In the month of March I decided to give Vellvette a try and went ahead with the 3-month prepaid scheme. For those who don’t know, Vellvette is a beauty box service in India which is a monthly subscription. You get a box of beauty, skin, hair related goodies for a very reasonable Rs. 399. Essentially it’s similar to GlossyBox or BirchBox. I received my April box last week and thought I’d post the march one as well. April 2013 Vellvette Box   01. Figs & Rogue : Aloe and Mint Balm (Full Size) This smells a lot like Badger Balm. I think this is something I’d use more on my feet, the scent isn’t very appealing to me for use on rest of the...

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator

I have really really dry skin. Throughout winter, this product saved my skin from flaking. Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense is a white gel/cream kind of moisturiser. The consistency is really interesting. It looks like cream but feels like a gel. It feels really cool against the skin. It isn’t too thick but I would say medium. It gets absorbed fairly quickly and you don’t need a large amount. If you apply too much at can look a bit oily till it gets fully absorbed. In the end, your face feels nice and dewy if you don’t put too much. However, this is a cream I absolutely cannot bear to wear in summers because it ends up being too much except maybe on days when...

The Body Shop Hemp Lip Conditioner

The Body Shop Hemp Lip Conditioner

This winter I had more than one best friend and it was The Body Shop Hemp Lip Conditioner!  I actually had two of these. One was in purse which was with me all the time I was out and one was at home. What I like about this lip balm is that it’s thick and feels like you have petroleum jelly on you without looking gloopy or too shiny. It’s not a thin consistency like the lip butters but thicker. It’s incredibly moisturizing and keeps the dryness away! If you get really dry and irritated lips (especially the edges) like I do, the minute you out this on, you get instant relief! I will say however, this is not a complete solution to dryness. If you have chapped lips, it will...

H2O Dual Action Eye Makeup Remover

Hello folks! It just struck me that some of my most used products rarely make it to my favourites list; like the makeup remover, topcoat etc. Need to remember that for next month! I will be running out of this soon and I thought I’d better write a review on this soon! I took the photos long back so that you can see the product. H2o is brand that seems to have flooded all the online shopping sites and this was my first purchase from the brand. The Dual Action eye makeup remover is like any other oil and water remover. I had previously used a similar one from No.7 and found it to be very efficient. This one is great if you have sensitive eyes. It’s very gentle and you don’t...

March 2013 Favourites

March is been a hot month indeed! And hence the use of more suncare and cooling products. Some of these I now use daily while others used more frequently on special occasions. Hope you like the favourites! Most of these are available in India if you where to shop. If you need details, please leave a comment! So let’s begin!           01. Sun Screen : Biotherm : Lait Solaire UVA and UVB Protection Melting Milk SPF 30 I’ve been using this in particularly if I know I’ll be out in the sun for a longer time. It has a soothing citrus scent and works really well.   02. Eye Shadow : Urban Decay : Buck My everyday eyeshadow! I have a lot of...

Lush Ocean Salt Facial Scrub

Lush Ocean Salt Facial Scrub

I’m not always completely on board when it comes to Lush products. Some of them smell really funky or the names just put me off using them. (Note, the bath bombs look super cute!). I had read a lot about the Ocean Salt scrub, mainly how cooling it is and I noticed how larger the scrub particles are. I was on board! Let’s see how it turned out! I think there are two types of this product, one is the Ocean Salt body scrub which comes in a larger tub and the other is the Ocean Salt facial scrub (the one I have). The appearance is just so cool. It looks like the chunky salt crystals that you sometimes see on the beach but in a milky aqua blue colour. There is a strong light blue hue...

Purplle.com Haul and Shopping Review

I was looking for volumizing shampoos and to my delight I was happy to find the Kerastase range at Purplle.com. I though I’d review this site as well! What I Hauled  OPI  : Nail Polish :  Mrs. O’Leary’s BBQ (burgundy shade) Bath and Body Works : Body Lotion : Into The Wild Kerastase : Shampoo : Bain Volumactive   Purplle.com They have a very large product range and a number of brands from low cost to high end. I’ve mentioned a couple of brands that standout in the Checklist below. It’s an all-round good site to buy make up, skincare and hair products. I don’t find the design of the site particularly appealing. I’m also quite annoyed with the...

Wishlist : March 2013

I’m back with a wishlist after two months now. There just wasn’t anything significant I wanted in the last two months. Plus, I was trying to curb the temptation to shop. Best to cease with the wishlists then!     01. Brian Atwood : Aida : Multicolour suede pump Way to start off the new year with a purely wishful product! Ridiculously expensive? Yes. Will I ever buy it? Probably not. But it’s so freaking gorgeous. I love the colours and the shape.   02. Diptyque : Candle : Baines I’ve been wanting these for so long and I finally found a store in India that sells them, MoonRiver. Will I buy it? I hope they have a discount soon. The current price...
