February 2014 List Love

I haven’t done one of these posts for a long time, my first one for the new year! 2014 has been incredible so far! I’ve already travelled so much and there’s more to look forward to! Here I have the pretty umbrellas from the Jaipur Literaure Festival! I post more stuff like this on Instagram.     Link Love – Books 01. The Northern Clemency by Philip Henser – He’s such a well spoken and hilarious author. The book is exactly that! I’m still reading it but I really like it so far. 02. Justice : What’s the Right Thing To Do? by Michael J. Sandel – He’s a Harvard faculty member. It’s a non fiction book about economics...

November 2013 List Love

Winter is here! I cannot be happier! Last week also rained quite a bit in my city which made it cooler, cloudy and indirectly, made me more sleepy as well. The end of November signals the start of my favourite time with New Year, my birthday, anniversary and Valentine’s Day to look forward to! I mean I get gifts and I like it.       Link Love – Books 1. The Mysterious Mr. Jacob by John Zubrzycki - It’s more of a historical book than a story as such but fascinating nonetheless. Mr. Jacob is a mysterious figure in our British past where he had many roles; mainly, a diamond merchant, a spy and a magician.   Link Love – Beauty & Fashion 1....

October 2013 List Love

Link Love – Books 1. Killer Puzzles – Does anyone have these puzzle books by Kjartan Poskitt? They are so freaking difficult! But so much fun and I love the twisted insane sense of humour. I never managed to finish them mainly because I was never sure of the answers. Anyway, a while back I found the answers page by the author himself! And guess what, I managed to see the Phantom of Ghastly Castle! Seriously though, couldn’t have done it without the help.     Link Love – Beauty & Fashion 1. Chloe Morello - I think she’s the first Australian You Tuber I’ve...

August 2013 List Love

Link Love – To Be Read 1. Time Reborn by Lee Smolin  - I mentioned this last month but I’m still reading it. 2. The Moon is Down by  John Steinbeck – It’s an incredible book about the German occupation of a small town during WWII but it’s told with such emotion, simplicity and humour, makes it a very unique experience. I love this book.   Link Love – Beauty & Fashion 1. Makeup Marlin - Marlin is a 25 yr old Japanese and has a no-nonsense make up blog. I love her clear swatches and concise writing. She has good YouTube videos as well. 2. Liana Beauty –  I actually found her blog through her You Tube channel (Amelia...

July 2013 Link Love

I hope everyone’s enjoying the monsoons! (or not…) I do feel very gloomy the minute I wake up, but if I compare it to the hot summer we had, this is waaaay better! I’d rather be groggy all day than uncomfortably hot and grumpy!     Link Love – To Be Read 1. Time Reborn by Lee Smolin – It’s an incredible book about time and how we still haven’t discovered how it functions, how knowing that would unravel so many things in physics. If you love sci-fi and want non-fiction, this is a great book to read!   Link Love – Beauty & Fashion 1. Wearabout - I don’t know why I haven’t mentioned this blog before. It’s a good...

April 2013 List Love

April was a very hectic month for me! I quit my old job, fixed up the new one! Towards the last week of April I had more free time though, which was like a mini vacation. I have to say, I didn’t explore much this month but nevertheless there are things I wish to share.       Link Love – Books To Be Read 1. Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling – I had bought this a long time ago and finally picked it up to read. Harry Potter is at a pedestal for me and although it’s still too early to review this, I’m not entirely engrossed by the book. But I will give it time and we will see!   Link Love – Beauty & Fashion 1. I Simply Love Makeup –...

December 2012 List Love

December was a month of procrastination for me. I had so many things to do and ended up doing very few of them. Hoping 2013 will be different. But here are some of the things I discovered along the way.     Link Love – Beauty & Fashion 1. Strut120 – Wow, I wish I was working here! Strut120 is the beauty, fashion website that India needs. August 2012 List Love

Fashion Week will be here soon but lets look at what I discovered last month. Instagram of the Month   Books to Read I’m currently reading The Circle of Reason by Amitav Ghosh. Play Where in the World is Carmen Sandeigo? in Windows XP

I think my biggest joy in the past few days was that I was able to play an old video game again. The title should give you a hint. Back in 7th standard to used to lurk in the CD-ROM section of Crossword trying to find a game which I would enjoy playing more than twice and which was also moderately priced. I came across “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?” I used to play it on my then shiny PC which had Windows 98. And ever since the world switched over to XP, I’ve faced a series of failed attempts to play it again. There are various versions of the same game. I’m talking about one where ‘The Chief’ is an African-American. I also like the pun names...

June 2012 List Love

The monsoons are finally here! I love rain! It’s the perfect time to go trekking or to a hill station. But dewy rainy weather does have its negatives; terrible for hair and makeup. I generally avoid face make up in the rains. I’ve been loving Gotye’s songs this month. Especially the Somebody that I used to know remix by Tiesto. Instagram of the Month     Books to Read I’m currently reading  a collection of plays by Ayn Rand. Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James is something that I’m hearing a lot about lately. Considering it was fan fiction, I’m quite curious about it.   Link Love – Beauty & Fashion 01. 101 Fashion Street ...

The Best jQuery Sliders

I work with jQuery UI quite often and you’d have to agree that sliders have become an integral part of web design. For it’s fast response, jQuery sliders are the most chosen ones. That coupled with CSS3 and transition effects is what makes them such a great visual tool. The following aren’t in any particular order. I will however, explain how I used them and what’s unique about them. before you choose a slider, I think it’s very important to understand your or your clients requirements. Go through galleries and other websites for inspiration. Once you have every positional and hover element defined, choose a slider that’s appropriate for you. There no...

May 2012 List Love

I had a crazy May. It was quite hectic and exciting at work. But it didn’t leave me time to pursue some other hobbies. I also had my room furniture redone this month. Everything is well organized and no more a gigantic mess!! Although I hope it stays that way for long…. Intsagram of the Month   Book to Read I actually didn’t read anything new this month. I finished the Dave Mustaine book. I’ll do a book review on it soon. One day I was bored and waiting so I was reading Harry Potter. Feels very nostalgic.   Link Love - Beauty & Fashion 1.
