Carrying on the couture theme, I’ll be showing fall couture collections from Armani Prive, Schiaparelli (what?! YES!), Christian Dior and Alexis Mabille! I have to say Armani was my favourite, love the simplicity and elegance.
Armani called this collection ‘Nude’ and well, no one can dispute that. But it’s classy, elegant and luxe in its simplicity. It also exudes power and command. With a good balance of daywear and evening wear, this might the be the best collection yet. I really love the coats in this. The pale lilac long coat and the shorter satin one. The gowns also look feather light and very soft and feminine.
What? Yes, this did really happen. If perhaps you were looking for something to wear for the Met Gala, you needn’t look any further! I love the eccentric bows. The green draped gown is fabulous.
Raf Simmons had a very mixed reaction to his couture collection. You didn’t see the extravagance of John Galliano but rather, the deconstructed version of it. The pieces were modern with an edge be it in the textile, print or silhouette.
Inspired by the painter Giovanni Boldini, his couture collection has fluid and bold concepts in place. I love the dramatic necklines and the silhouettes that have a brushstroke in itself and a beautiful shape.
