With wildly different inspirations, David Koma, Giles and Jean-Pierre Braganza pleased many at London Fashion Week.
Inspired by vinyl records, David Koma’s collection used it in ways that you can’t imagine and kept the collection chic and sophisticated. While the dresses looked a bit outrageous, the coats themselves looked very wearable. I like the biege ruffle like vinyl collar coat. I also liked the periwinkle blue dress with the silver pattern over it.
If you felt the collection looked a tad bit eerie and scary, you’d be quite right. I jumped when I saw the opening picture. If you were depressed and still cared to wear expensive well made clothes, you can head straight to this collection. Jokes apart, (depression isn’t a joking matter though), this collection had a clear vision and it developed around it very well. I love the washed out pink and brown pattern. The taupe lace top with the skirt is beautiful. The floral and gold gown was gorgeous. The weaved navy bodice with the flowing skirt looked haunting and beautiful.
I was very excited when I heard that this collection was inspired by The Game of Thrones!! I can’t wait for Season 3 to begin on 31st March!! The collection wasn’t literal and look minor symbolism and references from the theme. The mapped expanse, the fire and ice look, the picture print of sails, it all then came to light. But the silhouettes and particularly the jackets are wonderful.
