Another trio from New York Fashion Week. Behnaz Sarafpour shined against the great collections of Prabal Gurung and Jill Stuart.
Prabal Gurung’s collection has a militaristic edge to it. Inspired my the empowered women in the tribal Balkans. The olive peplum with the body belt and black fur makes it a formidable and modern look at the same time. The design in the pieces is immaculate. The collection turns for feminine towards the end but still maintains the strong front the collection has.
The outfits in this collection are so beautifully made, you can’t believe it’s fabric. Surely, the greyish blue pieces are most worth note along with the velvet-looking-like-fur outerwear. I love the blue voluminous coat. The structure it has despite being large is difficult to carry off but looking very beautiful when done well.
Jill Stuart has one hell of a collection. It’s the first I’ve seen with flowers in them and it brings the memory of spring. The yellow and black sheer cut out dresses look very trendy and chic. But the highlight of the collection were the finale dresses with the immsense petal-like details and in those bright (for fall) colours. I also liked the dark green velvet used, it brings a well missed and classic colour back on the runway.
