This trio of reviews contains one of the most watched brands. They are new but highly successful with their own unique signature. Yigal Azrouël and Cushnie et Ochs in particular interest me.
After a brilliant and intricate resort collection, it’s back to the much desired structure and mis of materials that Yigal offers. The clothes are very edgy and strong but some are simple and quite feminine. The simple spotted dress with light draping around the waist is gorgeous. The mix of leather and wool with zippers as accents completes it. I do love the palette and how burgundy works with black here. The grey and black houndstooth with lather panels is stunning as well.
Cushnie et Ochs
As far as well fitted clothes go, it can’t get any better than this. This probably one of the duo’s best collection. There is something very sensual about the clothes without being over the top or vulgar. I like it’s simplicity. The teal dresses really steal the show here, I love the odd angles and the cuts. The neckline tapering upwards is so beautiful. The show closes with simple and edgy gowns which have a similar aesthetic. Also, the printed fabric which looks like the sun shining through the leaves is brilliant and really looks like it glows.
Rebecca Minkoff’s collection showcases a great sense of mix and match. I like how all the patterned fabric is brought to more prominence with the solid leather jackets and coats. The outerwear in this collection is particularly worth praise. I also liked the solid neon dresses in particular the yellow one. It has a shapeless look to it without being odd, it actually looks beautiful.
