An iconic collection from Alexander Wang and more at Fall 2014 New York Fashion Week from Victoria Beckham and Delpozo; helping me fight the Monday blues!
Utility is the first thing that comes to mind when you see the collection. Those pockets can house pens, mobiles, notebooks and makeup! Why carry a purse when you can wear one, it might take some time to get used to that thought! Beyond that it was very pleasing to see so much colour at an Alexander Wang show! People were estatic! The leather cut dresses (originally black) are actually thermal and change colour. In that sense it was a very forward collection going beyond the thrresholds of mere silhouettes. I urge you to watch the actual video of the show, it’s phenomenal!
The clean and minimalist aesthetic was on show this time round with crisp suits and coats. A nice change was the play of volume around the hems I found it very unflattering and at times unnecessary. I do however, like the pleated skirts and print placed upon it.
This is quickly becoming a must see collection. I love the gowns and pale colours with embellishments and the contrast colours. The high shouldered cape like dress in a nude colour is such a beauty. The sheer sweater and the orange dress with the applique are gorgeous as well. The powder blue gowns are also very stunning. Overall, this collection is a winner from start to finish.
