I thought I’d get started on collections from Milan Fashion Week starting with Gucci, Alberta Ferretti and Ports 1961!
My jaw dropped when I saw this, it’s so basic on the outside but just the finesse is so stunning. I love the use of muted pastels, the leather which looks so luxe and structured. Every look is perfection. I really like the coats and that yellow leather dress.
The inspiration is nature and birds intertwined. There’s that dirty gritty side of nature portrayed so artistically here. There is so much couture like work on some of these outfits, a lot of embroidery and embellishment. Some of the dresses with a mix of sequins and feathers also look rather good.
Italian sportswear is a very elusive term but this collection is very strong. Workwear, coats, edgier clothing it has it all. I think the skirts in this collection really bring the theme together and look very distinct.
