Hello here! So happy it’s a holiday today! 3-day weekends should be a permanent thing!
Anyway, here’s part 2 of the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 collections. It’s pick of some of my favourite ones from Day 2 and 3. There was a lot of festive wear as well. Most notable for me were Anita Dongre, Divya Seth and probably Soumitra Mondal.
Day 2 ended with the Anita Dongre show which was so stunning, I really like it when work is intricate and not too heavy, this was perfect. I also liked the bright pinks and blues.
Vaishali S had some lovely ethnic pieces and I really liked the ones with the blue and orange contrast.
Soumitra Mondal’s collection with soft hues with exquisite embroidery was very light on the eyes. It was a nice change from the usual colour loud collections.
Sanjay Garg’s looked so rich and luxe. The zari in itself have the outfits such a lift. The jewel tones blues and greens really enhanced the prints. Loved the sarees in this collection.
Papa Don’t Preach
Papa Don’t Preach was in a league of it’s own and embellishment central. First off, those shoes! My goodness, I want to wear, maybe not walk in them, but definitely wear them. I love the lilac pieces especially the sheer embellished shirt.
If you wanted something traditional, it doesn’t get any better than Gaurang’s collection. But the borders seem to be getting larger every season! Not a trend that petite and thin people like me are fond off. The minty light green saree with pink and purple borders was gorgeous!
Krishna Mehta made tie dyes more wearable and up on the festive factor. I love the blue separates here. I also like the crop blouse in the finale.
Divya Seth’s collection feels very desert chic with earthy tones and prints. The colourful little bits added on really make it special.
I was much into the Rocky Star collection other than the antique gold and fringe gowns came out. The rest of the collection feels very passe.
