Spring 2014 RTW at Paris Fashion Week : Chanel, Giambattista Valli and Valentino
I like seeing Chanel in pink. The sheer brightness of it was surprising but the less loud shades like purples and berry toned pinks looked really good. I love the pearl accessories in this collection. The array of colours really reminded me of the Alberta Ferretti collection but looked really vibrant. That swimsuit is killer.
Feminine clothing has always been his forte and this time round there was symmetric draping, volume and the lightness of sheer fabrics. I loved the black peplum dress and the ones with slits as well. The floral dresses towards the end are stunning.
The show is being heralded as one of the best Valentino shows for years and is truly spectacular. There are so many Sicilian, Grecian and tribal references here that it is hard to pin point one. Let’s just look and take it in. The gowns are the best thing here as are the capes. The simpler monotone ones like the green and burgundy towards looks amazing. I also like the separates in this collection.
