Spring 2014 RTW at New York Fashion Week : Erin Fetherston, Josie Natori and Red Valentino
September is here!! Woot! I’m so excited to see the new collections. Right after Lakme FW it seems like our September started early, but excitement still hasn’t died down!
Erin Fetherston has a gorgeous and summery collection here with mix of pretty dresses in bright and soft colours. Ruffles, embellishment, lace, this collection has it all in very wearable summer attire. I love the maxi dresses. The magenta one, the gradient strapless neon yellow one and the tiered lace one. The last one with the floral applique looks so stunning, I love it.
Josie Natori’s collections always have a subtle Japanese influence. In this collection, we see a modern look on a kimono, daywear and other stereotypes. The stronger the material looks, the lighter it is. the prints are louder and the colours are certainly more bolder. I love the cream weaved kimono-esque dress. The pleated peplum looks very elegant, as do the cape like coats. I also liked the coral trousers with the floral print. The evening wear is something I’m not too keen on but I like the simplicity.
Red Valentino always appeals to my girly side. This year inspired by ballerinas, the collection features tulle, lace and a shorter than average skirt which still looks cute. I particularly like the floral coats and dresses.
