Spring 2014 RTW at London Fashion Week : Julien Macdonald, Ashish and Daks
Julien Macdonald typically does well designing for the not so average high styling and glamorous clientele. This collection was brilliant with its use of mesh and embroidery techniques. The gowns are just gorgeous and there are too many to pick a favourite.
Ashish’s collection signified London multicultural exsistance by mixing ethnic Indian accessories with casual laid back clothing. Arabic scriptures with works like ‘Joy’, ‘Happy’ and animal prints found a place among the collection as well. His love for sequins was also very apparent with the holographic ones used. It also brings up the question, can Coca Cola be equated with a cultural phenomenon? Judging by the collection, it most certainly can.
It was a very classic collection. That tan leather coat is timeless as are the other separates in this collection. However, there was an element of looking forward with the checked shorts and dresses.
