Hello people! here’s the second installment of Spring 2015 RTW New York Fashion Week! You can catch up with part one here.
I’ll come out and say it, I’m not the biggest fan of the active wear Alexander Wang aesthetic. I don’t necessarily get it. But I do recognize certain collections, like last season’s that was spectacular. This one in comparison is a bit uninspiring and feels too literal. The canvas shoe dresses and heavy beaded tops look great on first glance but not very wearable. I do however, like the crop tops towards the end of the collection.
Christian Siriano’s collection is a series of ups and downs. Some gowns are really spectacular and some are just too plain. I do like the latticework suit, I wish there was more of that incorporated. Every season I wonder what more could be done tot eh bandage dress and I’m sort stunned that the line is still going strong. This time round the bandage dresses look like it’s origami with the sharp little peplums, I love the bright orange number.
I really do love Victoria Beckham’s collection. It feels more fall like but I love that collarless beige coat. The pink floral print is unlike anything I’ve seen from her before. I also liked the opening numbers in the Yigal Azrouël collection. I love the crop tops and skirts from the DKNY collection as well.
The Diane von Furstenberg collection rocked not only because Naomi Campbell worked the runway, also because the dresses were amazing as always. I love the green and monochrome prints. The coats were gorgeous as well. carolina Herrera’s collection was stunning as well. The sheer and collage like gowns are just genius and look so incredible, it’s very modern.
Lela Rose’s collection had the flared skirts and intricate prints which I quite liked. The large polka dots gave it a very retro feel.
