The finale of the big four is Paris Fashion Week. Here are some of the SS 15 collections!
Balenciaga was a much better version of Alexander Wang, it’s the one I like. It mixes sportiness with femininity and wearability. I loved the draped fabric alongside the mesh and perforated ones. The silhouettes were modern and I liked the muted pastels as well.
The jackets and coats in Barbara Bui’s collection looks like something you’d find in Rajasthan but these have a lot more geometry to them. I loved the bright red workwear in Nina Ricci’s collection. Dries van Noten’s “earthy” collection had some lovely dark prints but I feel the collection is stronger when viewed as separates.
Gareth Pugh. You’re probably expected something Avant-Garde. It is. To be honest, I found some of them slightly terrifying. The skulls definitely bring in the drama but spooked me a bit. I loved Balmain’s collection. It was very pared down but the sheer panels and bright colours won me over. I just wish it would look good on me.
Roland Mouret’s collection stood out because of the bright colours, I love the opening green dress. That was followed by white and pastel hues with suede and leather fabrics paired together. I definitely want that bright purple crossbody.
I don’t attempt to “understand” Manish Arora’s collection but I am a fan of metallic iridescence, and so I find the collection delightful.
