Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Skincare

Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Skincare

I got a chance to try the new Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss range. It's mostly skincare but also includes the Absolute Gloss Addict lipsticks. So starting the end of October I basically replaced the relevant products with these in my Skincare Routine. Out went my Antipodes Moisturising Cream and Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. In came the Lakme Skin Gloss Gel Creme, Reflection Serum and Overnight Mask. I've used these for a little over a month now here are my thoughts. The first thing you'll notice about all three products is the crazy strong scent. And I…Read more
Murad Blemish Spot Treatment

Murad Blemish Spot Treatment

I was curious about acne spot treatments and I just wanted to explore a new one after using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar A.I. This product has really great reviews but my experience with it isn't that great. Murad Blemish Spot Treatment is part of its vast blemish control line. It's a targeted spot treatment product which you apply on acne. It's off-white coloured with a lotion like consistency. It contains a few powdery particle bits. When you apply this, even in a thin layer, it's very much visible. You can't really use anything…Read more
Caudalie Gentle Cleansing Milk

Caudalie Gentle Cleansing Milk

Time for a skincare post! Caudalie is a brand that got a lot of hype recently and I really wanted to try some of their stuff, especially since they use natural ingredients. There was a nice sale on FeelUnique and I bought this along with the Cleansing Water. I've only ever used cleansing oils before and this is the first cleansing milk I've used. I have to say, I'm disappointed. Now this one clearly claims that it removes face and eye makeup but it's just terrible at it. Even something small like removing…Read more
Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in 095 Finale

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in 095 Finale

I bought this lipstick on a whim without reading any reviews and I got a nasty payback for that! Revlon a few months ago launched the ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick range. I'll give them props for one thing, the colour range is just brilliant. I was at Shopper's Stop when I spotted this at the counter. I wanted a coral red type of shade and this looked perfect. It swatched well and the red wasn't an intense one. The shade is called Finale and it's a very warm orangey red. The pigmentation with…Read more
John Frieda Frizz-Ease Extra Strength Hair Serum

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Extra Strength Hair Serum

Hello peeps! Hope you are all having a good week. I'm glad it's Wednesday, which means Friday isn't far behind! ;) So many months ago, I was thinking of using a hair serum just to see if it made it difference. To be honest it didn't but I found other uses for this. John Frieda's Frizz - Ease Super Strength Hair Serum was one I googled and I found decent reviews for it. Sadly, this just didn't work for me as a serum. You apply this to damp or wet hair. You only…Read more
Models Own Lipgloss in Violet Cream

Models Own Lipgloss in Violet Cream

So around last year, there was a fabulous ASOS  sale going on and I also has a student's discount at the time. I bought the Model's Own Loose Powder eye shadow and spotted this pretty lip gloss for a very neat price. It was impulsive and a good example of why impulsive buys don't always work out for the best... Model's Own lip gloss in the shade Violet Cream is a very cool toned pink gloss with blue, pink and silver microshimmer. It's a light pink with a violet sheen. It's very sheer, almost…Read more
Elf Tone Correcting Concealer in Honey

Elf Tone Correcting Concealer in Honey

Elf's Tone Correcting concealer is quite shoddy to be honest. But I thought I'd review it anyway. A strange thing happens when you see a product costing $1. We are accustomed to believe that when you pay more you get better quality. But we are quite greedy and like to get what we pay for so occasionally you see something lower priced and think that this might work well, who knows?! I'll bring my rambling to end my stating this: Good cheap products do exist and are hard find to fine; this isn't…Read more
Calvin Klein Natural Purity Long Pressed Powder in 104 Camel

Calvin Klein Natural Purity Long Pressed Powder in 104 Camel

Calvin Klein's Natural Purity Long Pressed Powder leaves me baffled at the name choices. I find it ironic that a make up product has 'natural' and 'purity' in the name together. That said, the product itself isn't as impressive as the name. The range has an 'ok-ok' number of shades. I wish there were more darker shades. Using this is trickey. You use too less and there is no noticible difference. If it's too much you end up looking too powdery. I generally put it on when my face has a lot of…Read more

Tigi Catwalk Haute Iron Spray

Tigi's Haute Iron Spray is from the Catwalk collection. This spray is a detangler and heat protectant. At 200 ml you get a lot of product that lasts for a good few months. I've had mine for ages. I'm not a 100% happy with this product. I feel that it weighs down my hair and I feel like the texture of my hair doesn't feel soft after I've used this. Since this works well for detangling, I use this on the ends of my hair since more heat goes there. My ends are also…Read more

Movie Review : Battleship

The movie Battleship (inspired from the actual game) is about an alien attack on earth (on the sea) which is faced by a few odd battleships and destroyers. Movie Info (snagged from the wiki page) Directed by Peter Berg Produced by Peter Berg Brian Goldner Duncan Henderson Bennett Schneir Scott Stuber Written by Jon Hoeber Erich Hoeber Starring Taylor Kitsch Alexander Skarsgård Brooklyn Decker Rihanna Liam Neeson Tadanobu Asano Music by Steve…Read more
