Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Sunset Peach

Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Sunset Peach

Hey guys! I had picked up this lip gloss a few months ago. Revlon’s Colorburst Lip Gloss range is the best even it comes to quality and value for money. I also have the shades Papaya and Rose Gold. Sunset Peach also lives up to the hype! Sunset Peach in the tube is a light peach with gold and silver shimmer. It’s definitely a sheer lip gloss, not as pigmented as others in the range. It doesn’t transfer too much colour on the lips. For very pigmented lips, unless you just want that light glossy effect, this won’t really impart much colour. Hence this is best used layered over a lipstick if you want to add more shimmer or warm up the colour. I love using this over nude...

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray

Hello minxes! I was on the hunt for a spray that would give me more volume near my roots, to make it look like I have more hair… Well, I stumbled upon this brand called Bumble and Bumble. My initial reaction was “omg-cute-name!! must-have-it!!”. When the excitement died down, I decided to google their products and the thickening hairspray was the best fit for what I wanted. Bumble and Bumble’s Thickening hairspray is a light which gives different effects depending on your hair type. But in the general sense, it gives more volume at the roots and keeps the fly aways at bay. I have very fine hair and for me this works really well. I’ll go through exactly how I...

Herbal Essences Drama Clean Refreshing Shampoo

Herbal Essences Drama Clean Refreshing Shampoo

This isn’t a happy review. When I bought this shampoo I desperately looked for a shampoo with a green apple/ citrus scent. I walked in Dorabjee’s and this the first one I spotted, smelt it and I was sold. This is a probably a good lesson and how to not buy a product. I lot of the problems that I had with this I didn’t fully realise until I stopped using it and suddenly they were all gone. So bear with me, this might be a bit too rambly. The Herbal Essences Drama Clean Refreshing shampoo is from it’s cleaning range. This does contain SLS and I think that was part of the problem. The consistency of this is like a gel. It’s a translucent green shampoo. For me,...

Lush Ocean Salt Facial Scrub

Lush Ocean Salt Facial Scrub

I’m not always completely on board when it comes to Lush products. Some of them smell really funky or the names just put me off using them. (Note, the bath bombs look super cute!). I had read a lot about the Ocean Salt scrub, mainly how cooling it is and I noticed how larger the scrub particles are. I was on board! Let’s see how it turned out! I think there are two types of this product, one is the Ocean Salt body scrub which comes in a larger tub and the other is the Ocean Salt facial scrub (the one I have). The appearance is just so cool. It looks like the chunky salt crystals that you sometimes see on the beach but in a milky aqua blue colour. There is a strong light blue hue...

Purplle.com Haul and Shopping Review

I was looking for volumizing shampoos and to my delight I was happy to find the Kerastase range at Purplle.com. I though I’d review this site as well! What I Hauled  OPI  : Nail Polish :  Mrs. O’Leary’s BBQ (burgundy shade) Bath and Body Works : Body Lotion : Into The Wild Kerastase : Shampoo : Bain Volumactive   Purplle.com They have a very large product range and a number of brands from low cost to high end. I’ve mentioned a couple of brands that standout in the Checklist below. It’s an all-round good site to buy make up, skincare and hair products. I don’t find the design of the site particularly appealing. I’m also quite annoyed with the...

Mac Prep+Prime Eye Primer in Medium

Mac’s Prep+Prime Eye was the first primer I ever bought. Seeing the state of coloured eye shadows on my very pigmented eye lids made me run for the hills! I stopped till I spotted Mac store and a primer! That aside, Mac’s Prep+Prime range is a collection of handy products like primers, powders and concealers. The eye primer comes in three shades – light, medium and medium dark. I don’t think medium dark was available when I bought this, so I go medium instead! The colour, to give you a reference is similar to Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. It’s a warmer light beige colour. It looks very light on my lids but since you are adding eye shadow over it, it...

Paul Mitchell Lemon Sage Thickening Conditioner

Paul Mitchell Lemon Sage Thickening Conditioner

When it comes to hair products I love the smell of lemons and citrusy fragrances. I don’t fret much over the shampoo scent (unless it’s too strong) as long as I love the conditioner scent. I was browsing through some sites on the hunt of a new conditioner and this one really stood out. Paul Mitchell is a great brand with good formulas and when I saw ‘lemon’ I knew I had to try this. So I’ve used this for the past month now and I’m damn well pleased with this. You hair has that very natural lemons but not fruity type of smell and it’s amazing. The conditioner is while in colour and medium in consistency. It doesn’t lather much and it throughly...

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait

Hello folks! This will be the last of my Revlon lip butters. This shade is one of the most popular ones, it’s very wearable and suits a lot of skintones as well. Peach Parfait is a peachy coral colour with dense gold shimmer. The colour is light but it adds a nice warm tint to your lips. People who generally dislike shimmer in lipsticks should stay clear from this as it’s quite a lot and can be very distracting. The shimmer isn’t very subtle and feels rather rough against your lips. Most of the lip butters have a weightless feel to it, but the shimmer in this one counteracts that. It applies evenly and glides on like butter. The lipstick is quite sheer so you need to swipe...

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart

Are you tried of seeing the Revlon lip butter posts? I sure hope not, there are more to come! Today, I’ll be reviewing Cherry Tart. From my lip butter collection this is probably one of my least favourites. Cherry Tart, as the name suggests, is a cool-toned red. On the tube it’s a really pretty colour. However, it’s one of the least pigmented ones. It’s very sheer and I cannot get it to give an opaque look on the lips even with multiple swatches. Based on your natural lip colour, the colour does change drastically. On mine it looks like a darker and bright pink. The finish is very glossy and high on the shine quotient. It feels very light on the lips and incredibly...

Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub

Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub

A couple months back I was breaking out a lot and really needed a good scrub and cleansing product for daily use. I generally don’t break out much but that bout really freaked me out. After browsing the products in Dorabjee’s I decided to get Neutrogena’s Deep Clean Blackheda Eliminating Daily Scrub. I had previously used the Deep Clean face wash found it to be very effective. I’d glad they have a 40g version, it’s easier to try out products and then buy them. This doesn’t last long though. You apply a small amount to your face and scrub it all over; then rinse. I found the scrub to not be very harsh. It was very mild and not abrasive. I generally go for...

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 200 Soft Beige

I’ve had such a  busy schedule lately and the blog has severed from a lot of neglect. I hope to correct that from today. I think I’ll be reducing the number of posts I make per week just to make it more manageble. This is foundation I was using quite often last year and most of it is over actually. Sorry for the terrible state it’s in but pumps are so hard to manage. I bought Rimmel’s Match Perfection Foundation after I read a review online. I wanted something for daywear and wasn’t willing to spend a ton on it. I got the shade 200 Soft Beige which is a bit lighter than my skintone in some areas like my forehead, so I mixed it with another and used it for...

Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Stick in Spotlight Coral

I hope everyone had a good christmas! I was given a lovely cake by my friend and the weather has been very close to 6-7C. If only it snowed in my city… Besides me lamenting over snow, I know this post is soooo late. I’ve had so much on my plate lately. But I have a good 2-3 days break for new year so I’m going to catch up with posts and other blogs as well. I’ve always been very sceptical of brands like Estee Lauder and Lancome. I don’t know why but it’s just a gut feeling I have that I’m getting terribly ripped off when I buy those products. The lipstick I’m reviwing today was bought on eBay from a friend. It was cheaper and the only way I...

Faces Eye Pencil in Teal

Faces Eye Pencil in Teal

It’s my dream to have eye pencils in all colours. It’s not a very practical one because as much as I hate to admit, I rarely use anything other than black or brown. But, 2 months ago, I caved in and bought a “safe” bright colour. Teal is such a lovely shade. I can almost image a gorgeous earthy bronzey look with teal highlights. I think it’s a great colour to wear when you want a clean “just eyeliner” look. It think it’ll look great on any skin tone! I know navy blue is very in this season but this is a great option for a brighter one. When it comes to eye pencils in non-staple shades I don’t like spending too much on it. Even the...

Lakme Absolute Chromatic Baked Blush in Day Sheer

I’m so into wearing blushes these days. I like a light touch of colour around the cheeks and paired with a highlighter it looks amazing. For office wear I prefer peach or orange based blushes more than pink ones. Lakme’s Absolute range is really good. The quality is pretty good across the board. I was excited to try out the baked blushes. They give an even matte finish without looking cakey or powdery. The color is a warm orange, almost terracotta-like with gold shimmer. The shimmer is very distinct and very visible. I see this as a more pigmented Mac’s Sunbasque with more pronounced shimmer. It’s more orange than Sunbasque though. It’s very pigmented and when...

Zoya Midori Nail Polish

Zoya Midori Nail Polish

Zoya Midori is a really unique shade that I haven’t really found elsewhere. It’s a bright yellow green with orange-brown duochrome. What acombination! The duochrome is much more subtle when worn than it appears in the bottle. I like the consistency of the polish, it’s not too thick but not very runny either. The bright green has a strong yellow undertone and is really striking. Not the best fall or holiday colour but good for a quirky night out or summer look.  It’s a pearl finish and the shimmer is very subtle. Thea application is very streaky and in that respect I’m a bit disappointed. I never have those issues with other Zoya polishes.  You need 2-3 coats...
