If anyone made a Revlon lip butter rehab, I’d be the first one to sign up. Clearly I have a problem. But fortunately, this the last one I own and to be reviewed!
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya was released along with Wild Watermelon and was a very unlikely pick for me. It’s a very light peachy pink, leaning more on the peachy side. Compared to the swatch or tube colour, this looks quite different on my lips but I love it. It translates as a very warm light pink which surprisingly doesn’t wash me out! I feel like the name always perfectly describe the shade with lip butters.
This one is sheer and although you can’t build it up to a completely opaque...
The very first lip gloss I bought was from Clarins, it was a lovely nude colour, a much opaque version of this one.
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (seriously, what’s with the absurdly long name) is a sheer lip gloss. These are meant to be very hydrating and give a wash of colour to give a natural but enhanced look. This comes in six shades, all of them are very sheer. Rosewood Shimmer is one of the two nudes in the range and probably the more pigmented one at that. I really really love this colour. It’s a rosy brown shade with very minute shimmer. The shimmer is really very subtle and you can’t tell unless you observe closely.
My bare lips tend to go purply at...
Purely Pro is a brand I’d never really heard of, I got it in a Vellvette bag a couple of months back. I didn’t get a chance to use this too often. But every month I kind of dig into my collection and bring a couple of products out in front just so I’ll use them more often. This blush had a lucky month!
Purely Pro blushes come in a lot of shades, today I’m reviewing Lovely. It’s a midtone peachy pink. It’s a powder blush with no shimmer. It’s very soft in texture and blends well, leaves a matte finish.
These are sheer blushes that can be built up in terms of coverage. It will work well on light to medium skintones though you will have to build it up...
Everyone needs atleast one bold colour in their kit/collection. If red or a bright Barbie pink is too out there for you, deep pinky reds are the next best thing.
Behold, Cherries in the Snow, a lipstick as good as the name! Revlon’s Super Lustrous range is a ancient vintage looking lipstick. It’s been around since the 1950s and if it’s lasted this long, they’re doing something right!
Cherries in the Snow is a deep raspberry pink which can be worn in so many ways. One swipe and you get a deep pink intense colour. Its pink no doubt, but depending on the lighting it can also look like a cool toned red. If you want to wear this lighter you just pat a bit on your lip and...
This is such a classic colour, I was super excited when I bought this. Chanel Rouge Coco is their range of creamy hydrating lipsticks. It’s a good lipsticks that ticks all boxes, but for me there are more long lasting and cheaper lipsticks available.
Chanel Rouge Coco is a warm dusty pink, my kinda shade! It’s a nice warm nude pink colour. If you’re around NC40 it’s a nice nude pink that won’t wash you out. If you’re lighter it’s a nice rosy pink to wear everyday. Personally, I like wearing this to office.
I find this creamy to apply, but not so much that it will slip around a lot. My lips don’t feel dry and it’s very comfortable to...
There are loads of reviews for this product already and I was quite late to get in on it. I was looking for a true gold kind of eyeshadow when I spotted this and thought I’d try it out. Really wanted to try a Color Tattoo.
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow is a recent offering of cream eyeshadows that can be used by themselves, as bases or even as an eyeliner!
The shade Bold Gold is a true gold according to me. It isn’t too yellow or too antique looking either. I love the shade! If there’s a wedding to attend, this is the first thing I reach for!
The consistency of these are very similar to Mac Paint Pots. They’re thin, creamy and dry to a matte/pearl finish....
I’ve been a bit busy for the last few days, but I’m getting back in my groove. So much to look forward to this weekend!
Today I’m reviewing a polish that I picked up (rather impulsively) at the checkout line at H&M! I’d never really considered any of their nail polishes before, but I’m really liking this one.
Newlyweds suggests a mushy romantic soft colour. This is a sheer off white polish with pale gold shimmer. It looks so delicate and very dense shimmery on the nails, I really love the colour. It’s quite mild and makes it appropriate for formal occasions as well. The shimmer isn’t very in your face but really sparkles when it you shine...
I’m going to start this by telling you a really embarrassing tale about nail polish and liquid eyeliners. So I was about 10 or 11 when I bought my first nail polish. It was Elle 18 and they had some collection with shimmery lilacs and blues. Ofcourse, I went nuts when I saw these. But I also wanted a black nail polish. The emo kid in me was dying to come out!
So I barged into a local stationary “we sell everything” kind of shop, pranced to the makeup section, picked up a black looking bottle and pranced my way back home feeling mighty proud of myself. It was the first time I had bought something “on my own”. When I came home, I discovered, it was a black...
Skincare is where it’s at during winters. For a long time I’ve been relying on Bath & Body Works lotions. I had such a massive “squeee” moment when they first started selling in India.
Today, I’m reviewing the Bath & Body Works Body Lotion in Into The Wild. Into the Wild as you might suspect draws inspiration from jungles and rainforests. And it indeed does smell “wild”. It’s a mix of floral and fruity scents which I really like. It had a mix of mandarin, petals and white wood. It’s a sweet floral scent but not sickly candy like. If you liked Twilight Woods, you’d probably like this as well.
The lotion itself has a formula...
I’m addicted to lip butters! There were four new shades released a couple of months back and I picked up Wild Watermelon and Juicy Papaya. These do not disappoint!
Wild Watermelon is bright pinky red shade. Come to think of it, it’s a perfect lipstick to go with the Essie Watermelon Nail Polish! It can look very similar to Cherry Tart in the tube, but this is much more pink while Cherry Tart is a very warm red.
Pigmentation wise it’s sheer and buildable to medium. You don’t really get full coverage with this and even at it’s best you will still get a hint of your natural lip colour.
I love how this just glosses over your lips to make the lines disappear and...
I was so excited for the Maybelline Colorshow launch, I’ve been waiting for them to get launched here for such a long time! Gel polishes generally fare quite well and I was very curious about these. I’m reviewing the tw0 colours together because quality wise I see no difference at all.
Midnight Taupe is a brown taupe colour. It’s similar to Inglot 974 but a bit darker. Fiesty Fuschia on the other hand is a bright warm pink. A very Barbie pink shade. I actually don’t have a pink like this, I always go for more blue toned ones. But the shade range is incredible. I’m glad they didn’t come out with just reds and pinks.
These are translucent gel polishes and...
I love long weekends. It was Saturday yesterday and it just hit me that I have 3 more free days. Feels like a vacation!
Moving on, today I’ll be reviewing this Corrector from Bobbi Brown. I saw a lot of hype about this product and I was looking a corrector cum concealer I could wear under sheer foundations and the like.
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach is a very light yellow based peach colour. It’s not your usual orange corrector but it does the job well for me. It’s a bit sheer when blended but it is buildable.
It’s very very creamy when you first touch it but it translates a bit matte on the skin. If your eye area is not moisturised it can look dry and patchy....
Face primers are such a tricky thing to buy! They can be too shiny, too oily, too heavy or they just don’t do anything . If you have pores, acne you might also be prone to breakouts from silicone based primers.
Basically, what I mean to say is, you need to have a few parameters while choosing a primer and then pick one which fits you. First off, I wanted a primer with no silicones. I also have dry skin and didn’t really need a matte primer. But I also don’t want to end up looking like a greasy disco ball!
Illamasqua Satin Primer ticked all those boxes for me and I’m so pleased with it. This is meant to give you a dewy finish. It’s suitable for people with dry...
This is going to be a quick review, mainly because I’m crap at talking about fragrances.
I got this Nyassa Body Mist in Passion Burst in a Vellvette bag a while ago. I’ve never really tried anything from this brand before and I was pleasantly surprised!
The body mist is in the scent of roses and fruits and that’s pretty much all I can say about it. I’m not one to go for fruity/floral scents but I really liked this one! It’s not that old rose scent but more modern since it also has a fruity element to it.
This is a sample size bottle and even so, I like the packaging. I was expecting it to be cheap plastic but the bottle is actually glass and very weighty. The...
Finally, a Forest Essentials product I like a lot! I finished using this 2 months ago and realised I still haven’t reviewed it. After the last two Forest Essentials products I used, I wasn’t too keen on them. But I was surprised and quite happy with this one.
The Night Treatment Cream in Sandalwood & Saffron is a really rich and thick cream. I used this at night after cleansing and my skin was still soft the next morning. It’s cream/ecru in colour and feels really soft.
This gets absorbed pretty quickly and there’s no sticky or greasy feeling. Despite being really thick, it doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. It instantly makes your skin feel really smooth....
