Max Factor Mini Effect Nail Polish in Fantasy Fire

Max Factor Mini Effect Nail Polish in Fantasy Fire

Today I’m bringing you yet another nail polish that is utterly gorgeous. But not the best buy for the price though. I saw it for the first time on this blog and I just had to have it! It’s part of the Mini Nail Polish line which are these tiny cute polish bottles. I lot of them are gorgeous complex shades including shimmers and duochromes. Anyway, I’ll get down to business. Fantasy Fire is a layering sheer polish with a MAJOR duochrome shift. It’s a blue-indigo base with shimmer that shifts from orange to green. It’s quite thin and not really meant to be worn on its own. It’ll take way too many coats to get it opaque and with such a tiny bottle (and...

Nars Blush in Taj Mahal

Nars Blush in Taj Mahal

You know I have a soft spot for Nars blushes, but this one is actually my least used blush. I bought this when, like everyone else, I was having an orange phase. This seemed like the perfect blush for it. Nars Blush in Taj Mahal is a powder blush in orange with gold shimmer. When you blend it, you can really spot a nice gold sheen across it. It’s more of a yellowy-orange than a reddish one. I do really like the colour, it can seem too much for a neutral everyday look but if you apply a sheer layer, it can look great! It really warms your complexion. This is so so pigmented, it’s difficult to use. I mean that says more about me, rather than being the fault of a product. In...

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Taboo

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Taboo

I’ve said this before, it’s a galaxy in a bottle. I first came across this nail polish on Karen’s blog and I was blown away. I knew I had to have it. I scoured the net for it and finally managed to pick it up when I was abroad. I was a bit concerned because it costs 27 freaking dollars and I don’t rate other Chanel nail polishes that highly. The cream formulas in general just seem very streaky. But luckily, this one turned out to be quite good. I’m not sure what collection this is a part of but Taboo is a shimmer polish in a darkened purple base. Suspended in that you have bright blue, bronze and red violet shimmer. I think it looks a lot more red based in the...

Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant

Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant

I have another skincare review for you! This was also in my skincare routine and I’m so glad I found this product! We all know (or not) how important exfoliation is. I’m still not the most knowledgeable person but over the last two years I’ve been trying out different products to see what works best for me and I’ve found a winner! Totally jumping on the chemical exfoliant bandwagon here! Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant is a exfoliant in the form of a facemask. It’s main ingredients are lactic acid and salicylic acid which help remove dead skin cells. It’s exfoliation for the lazy! This comes out as a very very thick paste, almost clay like. It’s...

Urban Decay Woodstock Eyeshadow

Urban Decay Woodstock Eyeshadow

Urban Decay wins when it comes to eyeshadows! I managed to get my hands on this gorgeous and alarming pink eyeshadow. Urban Decay Woodstock is a pearly fuchsia eyeshadow. It’s also described as a deep pink shimmer. It has pink and silver shimmer. How amazing is the colour though? I can keep staring at it for hours! The quality is great, on par with rest of the pearl finish UD eyeshadows. It’s very smooth and buttery to touch. It’s also very pigmented and the payoff is good as well. I like that even on my extremely pigmented lids, I get true to pan colour  without a primer or base. It blends really well and stays put all day, no creasing either. Its really makes your lids...

Formula X for Sephora Nail Polish in Bond, Iconic Bond

From my shamefully large nail polish collection, there was one shade missing until now, gold. I was so eager to try Formula X for Sephora, they really do have amazing polishes in different finishes. The various glitter ones are really worth a look! Formula X for Sephora in Bond, Iconic Bond comes from the Lusters range. I suppose they are sheer to medium glitter polishes that can achieve a full coverage. Well, atleast this one can! Bond Iconic Bond is that perfect gold which isn’t too yellow nor too light. It has shimmer and multi size glitter which looks amazing! I’m very impressed with the quality of this one. The consistency is thin and the polish is slightly sheer, you get...

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in Exposed

When it comes to blushes, I’m instantly attracted to the bright ones, the louder the better! But with time I’ve also found this certain browny plummy pink colour to suit me very well. I think Nars Douceur is one such blush but it has a bit of shimmer in it. I love the Tarte formula for blushes and picked up the very well received shade Exposed. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush are sheer blushes for the most part and very soft and buildable. The colours are either Matte or with shimmer. Exposed is a nude shade, a browny duty pink. It also has some traces of a plummy undertone as well. It looks amazing for nude looks and also if you want a blush that’s not in your...

Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Highlighter in Rose Illumination

Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Highlighter in Rose Illumination

There is this notion that Elizabeth Arden is only for oldies. I’d like to challenge that with this gorgeous timeless highlighter! Elizabeth Arden released a limited edition Rose Aurora collection in 2012, which had a few products in this gorgeous rose gold packaging. But you can still buy this highlighter online! Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Highlighter in Rose Illumination is the perfect rose gold highlighter. It’s a light peachy pink with gold shimmer running through it when you swatch it heavily. But when you blend it it’s more of a warm champagne pink. It’s very flattering and just gorgeous! It’s a pressed powder in the huge compact. It’s very buttery...

Toni & Guy Heat Protection Mist

Toni & Guy Heat Protection Mist

There’s one product I solely learnt the existence of because of other beauty blogs, and that’s a heat protectant. I’m not a massive user, on an everyday basis I blowdry my hair and when I do straighten, it’s at 160F at the max. But for someone with fine hair like mine, these are a must! I’ve used quite a few overtime and some I can’t repurchase because of availability, I’m currently using Toni & Guy Heat Protection Mist! Toni & Guy a few months ago released a good range of hair products, I snapped this one up as soon as my Sunsilk one was over. Calling it a protection “mist” feels very appropriate because it is so light to...

Revlon Naughty Nail Polish

Revlon Naughty Nail Polish

Revlon nail polishes never really caught my eye until they started coming up with dupes for Deborah Lipmann polishes! More on that later but for now, I’m reviewing the shade Naughty. Naughty is a dark purple and charcoal grey duochrome polish. It also has very fine purple microshimmer which can be detected under direct light. It does look slightly pearlescent as well. However, the duochrome is subtle and not very stark like some other shades. Even so, you get a nice effect of purple in the middle and gray on the sides. The polish is very pigmented and creamy. You need one or two coats for an opaque look. They also apply evenly and there’s not streakiness or bubbling. I’m...

OPI Ink Nail Polish

When I was doing my Top 10 Fall nail polishes post I realised I actually haven’t reviewed most of them! It’s mostly because with nail polish my “schedule” is very haphazard! Anyway, today I’m reviewing OPI Ink, a  blurple you must have! In the bottle I think this definitely leans more towards blue but when you apply it, the base shade is a dark purple and you have blue, purple and even a bit of fuchsia microshimmer all over. It’s very complex and pretty, the kind where you will like staring at your nails all day! You can also see a mild yellow duochrome thing going on in the bottle but it isn’t really visible on the nail. It can at times looks like...

Forest Essentials Bath & Shower Oil Indian Rose Absolute

Have you ever had a time when you come home all tired and just wanted to get clean and sleep? You just jump into the shower, get feel freshed now you just want to skip your post bath rituals and sleep; a lazy soul like you needs a bath and shower oil! These are always marketed as a luxury item where you want to feel relaxed, the aroma is supposed to sooth you etc. Honestly, I don’t know how a bath product can relax me but I do like a product where I don’t have to spend 5-10 minutes moisturizing my body when I’m very very tired and sleepy. Forest Essentials Bath & Shower Oil in Indian Rose Absolute is amazing! This is the very first bath oil I bought and I love it! I...

Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation in 040 Honey Beige

Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation in 040 Honey Beige

This is an old foundation which I don’t use as often anymore, I’ve used up most of it. The Diorskin Nude foundation is a hydrating foundation meant to give a dewy natural look. Exactly my kind of foundation, sheer and light. Diorskin Nude Foundation, rightly as the name suggests is meant to give your skin a natural glow and look. I use the shade Honey Beige 040. I’d say this foundation is similar to Mac Face & Body or Chanel Aqua Lumiere. The shade is a tinge darker than my skintone but in summers when I’m a bit tanned, it’s a perfect match. The foundation is a bit runny and you always need to shake it up well before using. It’s sheer but buildable in...

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

I was travelling to cold countries where I knew I would be exposed to cold winds, low temperatures etc and I really wanted a good all in one cream that would keep the dryness at bay. The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream was my pick. It’s a white coloured thick rich emulsion like cream. Consistency and texture wise it’s a bit similar to the Bath & Body Works Triple Moisture creams. It’s really thick but non greasy. It does however need a few minutes to sink in and get absorbed. But after that your skin is supple and soft for almost the whole day. You generally feel a bit of dryness in the evening. It’s perfect to carry while travelling because you can use it on...

Mac Expensive Pink Eyeshadow

Mac Expensive Pink Eyeshadow

Mac Expensive Pink is another gorgeous eyeshadow which much like All That Glitters, speaks for itself. It has pink, gold and a lovely sheen to it, why will girls not like it? Expensive Pink is Veluxe Pearl finish, by far my favourite from Mac. It’s a peachy pink with gold shimmer in it. Depending on your lighting it can look more pink or peachy at the time. But it’s the gold sheen that really makes this colour look rich. This is great to wear on festive occasions, weddings etc. You can use this with bronze, gold, orange or purples for more intense looks. It works incredibly well with a lot of colours. The quality is really great as well. It’s that buttery smooth kind which...
