It feels incredibly weird to say, but today’s my birthday!! Happy Birthday to me!! Turning 25 today which is a bit depressing… mentally I think I’m still 10! Oh well, I’m supposedly more grown up and capable of sound rational decisions now, more so than last year! ^_^
I’m so glad my birthday is on a Saturday though, more time to go out and stuff.
For now, here are my favourites for December! I did a little haul last month which is kinda part of my birthday haul, so some new products are mentioned here. I’ve also posted my “Best of 2013” products post if you’re interested.
Photos and swatches!
01. Body Butter : Soap...
Skincare is where it’s at during winters. For a long time I’ve been relying on Bath & Body Works lotions. I had such a massive “squeee” moment when they first started selling in India.
Today, I’m reviewing the Bath & Body Works Body Lotion in Into The Wild. Into the Wild as you might suspect draws inspiration from jungles and rainforests. And it indeed does smell “wild”. It’s a mix of floral and fruity scents which I really like. It had a mix of mandarin, petals and white wood. It’s a sweet floral scent but not sickly candy like. If you liked Twilight Woods, you’d probably like this as well.
The lotion itself has a formula...
This post is a first of sorts! I love trying new products but there are certain ones I also buy again. I think this post would be a nice way to showcase products that really work for me.
Hope you like it!
L-R | Batiste Dry Shampoo | Sunsilk Keratinology Heat Protector Spray | Bath & Body Works Into the Wild Body Lotion | Bioderma Sensibio Solution Micellaire | Burberry Brit Perfume
Clockwise | The Body Shop Hemp Lip Conditioner | Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara | Mac Select Moisture Cover Concealer | Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle | Mac Technakohl Liner | Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in My Mahogany | Urban Decay Buck (at center)
I cannot give enough praise to Bath & body Works body lotions. So far, quality wise I’ve loved all the ones I’ve tried. Fragrances are a personal thing but this is one that just so pleasant and clean and nice to have.
I have this in the smaller bottle which is 88ml (larger ones are 237ml). It’s perfect to travel with and I’ve used it on many such occasions. The lotion has vitamin 3 and shea butter in it. The fragrance is hard to describe but it there is cotton and freesia in it for sure. It’s just that crisp, clean scent you get with freshly cleaned sheets or something! If you like Estee Lauder White Linen, you will find this to be right up your alley.
This past month I’ve tried a lot of new products and some of them are mentioned here while others are trusted favourites that I use everyday. Hope you are all having a good month! This is a bit late but well overdue since I didn’t post May favourites.
My favourites for June :
01. Shampoo : Brocato : Hydrating Shampoo
I was using this when I was travelling and it works really well. It’s not too strong and I like the smell as well.
02. Conditioner : Brocato : Hydrating Conditioner
This is in an emulsion paste kinda form and also works just as well.
03. Eye Cream : Estee Lauder : Advanced Repair Night Cream
This isn’t something I use...
On this site I’ve confessed my love for Bath and Body Works many times. I’ve been using their body lotions for more than a year now and every time I like trying out a different scent. Why have so many, it’s incredibly hard to choose!
Well, today I’m reviewing the Twilight Woods Body Lotion.
At first I thought the scent would be woody and mild but I was surprised to get a very wild forest kind of scent. What on earth is wild forest you ask? Sweet, floral, fruity… put yourself in Avatar’s Pandora and imagine what it might feel like…
Something of the sort.
The quality of the body lotion is so good. It gets absorbed quickly and doesn’t leave any...
1. Rebecca Minkoff : Mini M.A.C : Almond
Good leather, very wearable. I’ve been wanting this bag for the longest time.
2. Soap and Glory : The Righteous Butter
I’ve read really good reviews about this. And now that’s its available in India, I really want it!
3. Mac : Mineralize Lipstick : Style Surge
It’s the perfect colour for summer.
4. Pipa Bella : Pastel bib necklace
It’s such a good statement piece to have. I don’t really have any pastel necklaces.
5. Caudalie : Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum
I’ve been reading up stuff and I feel like I need a hydrating serum for my skin. This might just be...
Hello darlings! In the month of March I decided to give Vellvette a try and went ahead with the 3-month prepaid scheme.
For those who don’t know, Vellvette is a beauty box service in India which is a monthly subscription. You get a box of beauty, skin, hair related goodies for a very reasonable Rs. 399. Essentially it’s similar to GlossyBox or BirchBox.
I received my April box last week and thought I’d post the march one as well.
April 2013 Vellvette Box
01. Figs & Rogue : Aloe and Mint Balm (Full Size)
This smells a lot like Badger Balm. I think this is something I’d use more on my feet, the scent isn’t very appealing to me for use on rest of the...
March is been a hot month indeed! And hence the use of more suncare and cooling products. Some of these I now use daily while others used more frequently on special occasions.
Hope you like the favourites! Most of these are available in India if you where to shop. If you need details, please leave a comment!
So let’s begin!
01. Sun Screen : Biotherm : Lait Solaire UVA and UVB Protection Melting Milk SPF 30
I’ve been using this in particularly if I know I’ll be out in the sun for a longer time. It has a soothing citrus scent and works really well.
02. Eye Shadow : Urban Decay : Buck
My everyday eyeshadow! I have a lot of...
I was looking for volumizing shampoos and to my delight I was happy to find the Kerastase range at Purplle.com. I though I’d review this site as well!
What I Hauled
OPI : Nail Polish : Mrs. O’Leary’s BBQ (burgundy shade)
Bath and Body Works : Body Lotion : Into The Wild
Kerastase : Shampoo : Bain Volumactive
They have a very large product range and a number of brands from low cost to high end. I’ve mentioned a couple of brands that standout in the Checklist below. It’s an all-round good site to buy make up, skincare and hair products.
I don’t find the design of the site particularly appealing. I’m also quite annoyed with the...
With winter here, I’m in more of a mood to review skincare products. Well, let’s start with good old moisturizer! After using up Moonlight Path (Triple Moisture), I wanted something lighter and a completely different fragrance. I opted for the Bath & Body Works body lotion in White Citrus.
It’s main ingredients are Shea Butter, fast absorbing Jojoba Oil and protective Vitamin E (the adjectives are what they claim! )
The smell is just amazing and very summery. It’s a refined citrus and meadows smell. It’s not fruity, but more floral and lemony. According to the main website, the key fragrance notes: are crisp lemon, grapefruit, Lush Waterlily, ginger...
It’s July already! Sorry for being so behind on posting this. I’ve been trying to stick to my posting schedule but they are all getting delayed.
I’m trying to rectify that from the coming week. You might sense a theme here. Everything looks peachy pink or a variation it, doesn’t it? I didn’t realize that until I saw this picture.
So anyway, here are my June favourites!
01. Body Lotion : Bath & Body Works : White Citrus
I love the smell of this. Very fresh and citrus like. The consistency of these isn’t as thick as the triple moisture ones.
02. Powder : Rimmel : Match Perfection Ultra Creamy Compact Powder : Soft...
I don’t quite remember where I got this. But it’s tiny and effective. I used it on the go when I needed a moisturizer. It has a lovely aloe vera fragrance which isn’t overly strong.
It isn’t the most hydrating cream in the market but it stays on well for 5-6 hours I guess.
It’s cream in colour and gel like in consistency. It feels quite cool when you apply it as well.
Name : Body lotion
Brand : Forest Essentials
Colour : Off white
Consistency : Thick gel like
Texture : Soft
Fragrance : Aloe Vera and neem
Application : Over dry skin
Skintype : Any
Ingredients: Soybean oil, cottonseed...
It’s for the April favourites! I’ve started using tinted moisturizers even more, since its summer. But other than that there are a few products I discovered this month that I LOVE!! Onto the list then!
01. Dry Shampoo : Toni & Guy : Refreshing Dry Shampoo
I very curious to dry this out. I don’t want to shampoo my hair everyday and this makes second day hair look a lot better. I don’t think this is the best result but it does soak up some of the greasiness.
02. Tinted Moisturizer : Stila : Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer : 01 Dark
With summer on full swing, foundation just isn’t a good match for everyday wear. Stila’s tinted moisturizer...
I wish bath and Body works was in India. The Body Shop needs some competition!
That said, I love their products and fragrances. I will describe more in detail below but the consistency and staying power of their moistuizers and body lotions is why I like them best. I’ve found that it precisely does what I need for my skin.
So I product I’m reviewing is from the Moonlight Path range. It’s the Triple Moisture Body Cream. The cream itself is extremely soft and almost like an emulsion. It gets a lotion form when it touches the skin. It’s non greasy but thick. You almost feel the heat trap in and some warmth when you put it in. It is so essential for winters! I use this...
