Spring 2015 RTW : Paris Fashion Week : Part Two

Spring 2015 RTW : Paris Fashion Week : Part Two

Hey guys! I'm kinda sad that my perfect long weekend is coming to an end. Oh well, here's some fashion for distraction. It's part two of Paris Fashion Week SS 15! I really like the crisp white separates at the Dior show. I don't know if long coats are making a comeback but the burgundy and hot pink one looks amazing. I also liked the textured jackets at the Issey Miyake show. I haven't featured Anrealage in this blog before but I really loved the shadow as a print idea, it's quite unique.…Read more

Fall 2014 Couture Collections

Hey guys! I hope you might have noticed, Xuvious.com has a new layout! I got kind of bored with the old one and I really wanted to improve the navigation. So the menu is more streamlined and there are also more ways of browsing the site (as can be seen in the sidebar). I also made it responsive so it'll be better to view on a tablet or mobile. Let me know if you like the changes or if you find any bugs/broken links! That aside, here are the Fall 2014 Couture collections!…Read more

Spring 2014 Couture : Atelier Versace, Schiaparelli and Christian Dior

I'm back from Jaipur! JLF was really good this time, discovered so many new authors like Philip Hensher, Jim Crace, Jonathan Franzen etc. Also loved the sessions with Gloria Steinem and Amartya Sen. But anyway, I was so pumped about next month because of fashion week that it sort of slipped my mind that the Spring Couture shows take place right now! This actually happens every year, but I just caught it in time this year! Atelier Versace The inspiration for this collection was the iconic Grace Kelly in that classic hood giving…Read more

Spring 2014 RTW : Christian Dior, Isabel Marant and Maison Martin Margiela

Spring 2014 RTW at Paris Fashion Week : Christian Dior, Isabel Marant and Maison Martin Margiela     Christian Dior The Christian Dior Birds of Paradise collection really resonated when I saw the runway. The clothes and decor all have that burst of colour. But it's the separates that really caught my eye. I love the pink and black pleated dress and the blazers with the wrap effect. Overall, it's not the most exciting collection but there are pieces that elevate it to a youthful and fresh appearance. Isabel Marant I wasn't too…Read more
Fall 2013 Couture : Armani Prive, Schiaparelli, Christian Dior and Alexis Mabille

Fall 2013 Couture : Armani Prive, Schiaparelli, Christian Dior and Alexis Mabille

Carrying on the couture theme, I'll be showing fall couture collections from Armani Prive, Schiaparelli (what?! YES!), Christian Dior and Alexis Mabille! I have to say Armani was my favourite, love the simplicity and elegance.   Armani Prive Armani called this collection 'Nude' and well, no one can dispute that. But it's classy, elegant and luxe in its simplicity. It also exudes power and command. With a good balance of daywear and evening wear, this might the be the best collection yet. I really love the coats in this. The pale lilac long…Read more

Resort 2014 : Christian Dior, Versus Versace and Etro

Resort 2014 collections are trickling in very slowly and I just can't find them all in one place. I don't know why some of the sites are holding back on publishing them. Oh well, I have 3 collections to review here - ┬áChristian Dior by Raf Simmons, Versus Versace by J.W. Anderson and Etro! Let's begin! Christian Dior Showcased in Monaco, Dior's collection had that air of elegance and a grandiose location to present it. Placed in a yacht, it was quite the obvious choice for a resort collection. The looks have that…Read more

Fall 2012 Couture : Christian Dior

Christian Dior's couture collection this season is a debut for Raf Simmons. There was a lot of excitement and anticipation to see what his take for couture would be like. I feel it isn't as bad as the critism that's been thrown towards it. Yes, it starts looking like a Jil Sander collection but its to be expected. As the show progressed the dresses has more finesse and richness to them. The embroideries looked really beautiful. Although couture and wearable don't necessarily go together. This collection had both and I don't see that…Read more

Resort 2013 : Christian Dior

Dior's resort collection has a very minimalistic style with some of its classic silhouettes. A trend over many seasons so far, the large mid length flare skirt was featured a lot. There were a lot of separates as well. I like the white gown with the black band and also the red dress with the mesh flare skirt. It has a very classic elegance vibe to it. ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; Image Credit : Style.com | Entire CollectionRead more

Fall 2012 RTW Christian Dior

Dior's Fall collection left me a bit uninspired to be honest. The dresses were simple yet flowy and honed on how one should feel when its srping. But there was little that wowed me with the possible exception of Ajak's Navy Blue dress with the oversized bow and handwork across the neck. The outfits aimed at drawing attention to the neck with its wide twist opening and the waist with the peplums and flared skirts. The palette for the most part seemed subdued in blacks, taupes and greys. Towards the end of the…Read more
